Every time I have gone out I have had problems locating a signal with the King Dome. I do eventually find it, but my wife has to leave the trailer some times because I start calling it names that cannot be repeated here. My next time out I am going to call King Dome and have them guide me through their step-by-step procedure for finding satellite 110 and 119. I know it's up there somewhere in the sky!!!!
Edited: One I do lock on I have no further problems during that stay.

I have not used the King Dome so I can't comment on performance, but we do have the winegard and it has performed perfectly for us. I believe the winegard (Roadtrip) is more automatic than the King Dome so it is relatively stress free for me after I turn on the green button.
There has been times I could not lock onto one or all satellites as a result of nearby trees or cloud cover, however I think that is characteristic of all of the domes.

Both of them are good units if you get the fully automatic ones. I have the King Dome and all i do is push a button and it does the rest. I purchased the king Dome because it came with HD as standard and is programmable for future satellites.

Be sure to look at the KVH domes. Many friends have had great luck with them.

Dennis,
Do you have the digital read out or just the 3 button toggles?

I had a King Dumb on our motor home. It could not distinguish between satelites and would lock onto every satelite out there before finding the right one. It could be a time consuming and frustrating process. We put a Moto Sat Executive on our 3400 and are very happy with it. Flip 1 switch and it locks onto the correct satelite. The Moto Sat gives you a bigger dish than the domes and keeps it's signal during the rain. If you get a dome be prepared to lose your signal on a rainy day.
