Basement storage for lawn chairs
I seem to remember some pictures of the basements for a show and tell or such. Someone had built some sort of vertical dividers and then stored lawn chairs between the dividers.
I want to store 2 folding lounge(?) chairs and 2 folding lawn chairs in the basement and am looking for ideas.
Thanks in advance for any help.

We installed a Hyloft Model 00526 adjustable height garage ceiling storage unit(shelf) from Home Depot. It hangs nicely from the top and allows us to store our poly table and two lawn chairs up out of the way with still room for storage containers underneath.

I'm cheap. #128513; I stand mine on their edge against the front wall of the basement, and secure them with two Velcro straps, one from the top, and the other from the bottom, held in with large headed screws. JT

I'm cheap also. Since we are totally containerized under there I just lay the chairs on top of the containers.

Sorry Scott no pics but they make a range of these in price. We just went with the cheap unit($50. max) that you can get a Home Depot, Wallmart, and it works just great. I believe ours is three feet wide. The best thing is one can adjust just how far down you want the shelf to hang.

Here's the divider I made a few years back. The posts are just wood dowels from Lowe's. The bases are screwed to the floor being careful of the tanks underneath.

Nice job!! Wish I had that kind of space to spare, but full timing kind of uses up any spare space.

Thanks DieselGuy. That may have been the picture I saw. Are those dowels pretty strong? Also, what is the base they are in? Are they glued in to it? Thanks again.

Put our lawn chairs in the front compartment in the generator space and typically use a bunny cord to keep them from leaning forward. While rving we stack them under the overhang to keep rain off and they are handy when needed. However, when we someday put in solar will need to relocate lawn furniture.

Tom ... the dowels are 1" and the base runners are 2" square stock 27" long. I just bored 1" holes in the runners about 2/3 the way thru and glued all but he last short row in so I could remove that set if needed for access to my hoses. I stapled a bit of carpet on the runners for protection. I lashed the items to the poles with Velcro straps. The two tallest ones I couple together with 3/8" dowel for stability. As you can see we haul tables, chairs, telescoping ladder, and what not secured in place without incident. It really doesn't take up anymore room that the pile we used to have laying on top of one another. I grew weary of always wanting to use what was on the bottom.

Did you just screw the base to the flooring?

We stand the chairs (zero gravity recliners) on their sides on the DS basement storage. Pete fashioned custom bungee cords that we cross cross and secure with eye hooks screwed and secured on the forward wall. The folding table and 2 director style chairs are stored in the same manner on the PS. Quick, easy, simple and cheap.

Yes, I just used short 1/4" lag screws. The floor is about 3/4" thick and the tanks are about 1.5" below that. I drilled a pilot hole in the runners to clear the lags, then countersunk the holes to recess the lag heads. The lags are only really threaded in to the flooring. I have stuff against my sidewalls, so the bungee cord deal doesn't work for me.
