Dodge Recall
Received a recall notice for my 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 today. This affects all Ram diesel trucks from 2010 through 2014. with the 6.7L Cummins diesel.
The problem: The diesel fuel heater electrical connector may overheat and cause a fuel leak.
Chrysler intends to repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor) However the part required to provide a permanent remedy is currently not available. You will be notified when parts are available to bring your vehicle in for repair.
Sure wish the RV industry acted on known issues the way the Automobile industry does, wouldn't that be unique....

Hey Ed ,the RV industry acting on known issues like Auto companies??????? You are being Sarcastic RIGHT my man???? kind of like GM getting right on those known ignition failures,Ford Pinto Exploding Gas tanks and Explorer defective tires,Toyota's stuck gas pedals,Fords 6.0 Powerstroke(except for a few lucky ones) ,Chrysler's detonating auto transmissions in the 90's they never admitted too,,ever owned ANY American car in the 70's or 80's ?? YIKES!!!!!the auto industry I think was and still is just as bad or worse than RV's if that is possible in that department

I had my Ram 3500 in for a free Chrysler paid oil change (you get 4 with each new pickup) and they ran the recall list and found two. One they fixed with a software update to the ABS computer, and the second required a part to be ordered. They seem to check recalls every time you roll into the dealership. I got the postcard about the ABS recall a few days after it was fixed.

Agree! Well said. And a recall is worthless if the part is not available. My neighbor waited 4 months for a front end part required as part of a recall for his dodge truck.

My guess would be that the recalls are just to get the government off their back. Why worry a consumer when you can't fix the problem?

Like Dick said Most of the time they have to be FORCED to act on a Known problem, my list could have gone on Forever about cars they built with known issues and did nothing and I'm not just talking American car companies they all have done it
