More RV park madness today
More RV park madness today (madness as in losing my sanity):
Me: "Sir, I'm sorry, but you can't park on the grass by the picnic table."
Him: "How am I supposed to know that?"
Me: "It's in the rules on the blue card you have on your dash."
Him: "Who reads the rules?"
Me: "The rule is also printed on the sign in the grass."
Him: "What sign? I didn't see any sign."
Me: "Sir, that's because your left rear tire is resting on what's left of that sign after you ran over it just now."
Sigh . . .
Carolyn, currently park hosting until I lose what's left of my mind!

Carolyn,
Do you guys have a ranger that is onsite or very close? I hope you do and I hope your next stop after talking with the various idiots is the ranger! These folks need a ticket (at the least) and or removal and incarceration! You're not getting paid enough for that sort of duty. And it often is just this kind of idiot that will get you hurt. Be safe! We worry about you folks having to deal with this sort of thing. Happy Thanksgiving, Dennis and Mary Kay

Just thak a deep breath, and have another piece of pumpkin pie. You folks perform a necessary service. Keep up the good work.

We have done the "workkamper" bit and sympathize with those of us who do this work- Unfortunately, our experience with the rangers has not been good- They have a tendency to make us out to be the bad guy in every confrontation when what is needed is for ACTION to be taken against the violator- The customer is NOT always right- JMHO- Don

We have a ranger for backup, but he has to cover a huge territory and is always at least an hour and a half away when we need him. We could use him full-time this weekend, because all 70 sites in the park are full, and people are parking their boat trailers, extra vehicles, etc., on the one-way drive through the place (when they're not parking them on the grass by their RVs). We went off duty yesterday, so we're not having to deal directly with the offenders, but we still have had to ask people to move their trailers and vehicles so that other people pulling their RVs can get by. Yesterday, we not only had people parked in the road, but had people driving and parking the wrong way on it. No one could get by, and trying to find the owners of the stuff in the road was a nightmare, especially when they parked their vehicles and boat trailers, locked up, and left to fish on the beach or pier. This is a very pretty, well-kept park in a terrific location, but it seems to attract its share of self-entitled campers!
There's a book somewhere in all of this madness.

Have been to that park, it is a really nice place. When I was there it was nice and quiet.

The park is still nice and quiet for the most part. There are times when we have a lot of kids in the park (school outings, Scouts, church groups, etc.), and then things can get a bit "active," but overall, we don't have problems with noise. Our biggest problems occur when a few campers don't follow the rules and inconvenience others, and when children are allowed to run unsupervised throughout the park and bath/toilet areas. Still, those problems are usually resolved within a short time.
Come back and see us--the grass is green and the fishing is excellent!

I agree with Pineranch regarding the tow truck! And I'd think the City or State or what ever entity has jurisdiction would support a strong towing enforcement. It probably would take only a few weeks of strict enforcement and the word would get around. Good to know that most folks adhere to the rules. Thanks for sharing. Dennis

Carolyn,
These kinds of people remind me of those who sit behind you in a movie theater or some musical performance and spend all their time talking out loud throughout the show. No matter how many times you turn around and look at them (staring them eye-to-eye), they just continue to talk. I'm not talking about teenagers; these are middle-aged, mature people (at least their bodies are mature).
