Need Ozz !!!!!
"Stick" AC failed this AM. Fan motor in outside unit seized. Supposed to reach 100+ here today. Tech is in route , might have to move to Monty if he doesn't soon arrive.

Take a box fan, wire it to the top of the unit, air blowing up; see if that keeps the A/C on. I have doen it before, worked great.. Let me know.

Thanks Ozz, sounds like a great solution. The tech came and replaced the fan motor, installed a capacitor and 2 lbs of freonat a cost of $670. Maybe an hours work. Was I violated?

Larry find out the model of the starter capacitor the tech replaced then go out and buy a couple of spares. They usually run from $7 to $10 dollars each locally and the tech will charge about $80.00 to 100.00 to replace a bad one.

My cost on a dual cap is around 22, I sell them for 45-55, refrigerant runs around 45-70 a #, my service call is 100, fan motor can be 160-200. You should-could never need another cap, I wouldn't buy one.
