Burping sound from water inlet area

I just started getting a burping sound from the inlet area of the fresh water hookup. Any ideas?

Also, what is the little screened hole at the bottom of the inlet cover for?

Thanks,

The girgling sound is air pressure coming back up out of the fill line through that little tiny hole with the screen on it. If you are filling from the direct fill line while water is going in, air is coming out of the little screened area. If you're filling from the city water fill, again air is coming out the little hole with the filter for pressure relief. Tis normal and means water is going in your tank.

Yeppers - the little screened hole is a vent to allow air in to displace the water as you consume. Without it, your tank would implode.....well cave in maybe......OK, maybe the water would stop flowing at least because of the suction.

Jee-Zoots thats a cold picture Ice-House!!

Michael, you are hearing that noise only while filling the tank, right? And not other times?

Keystone told us when we are filling the tank from the connection center switch, we should always remove that cap at the back of the rig. Supposedly when filling this way the water comes in at a higher rate than the small vent can exhale displaced air. That can cause a pressure buildup and even rupture the tank. I think Dsprik has some firsthand experience with this and it was at that time I was told this.

Steve,

I was hearing this sound while connected to city (pressurized) supply. Now I am really confused.
