Our steps have decided to collapse. The plate on the left side end has started to bend downward and where the seam is, it is tearing--too many french fries, I guess. Will have to find a welder somewhere.

Well it happened again on the weekend going to a provincial park. It was a really windy weekend Oct 19th-21st. The DW got out and bungeed them and all was well. I like the pin idea someone had instead of the bungee. Well she`s all winterized now and waiting for April to arrive and its off to the Keys!!!

jpbcny,
The pin is a great idea! And really nice pics too. If we have further problems with this we'll definitely go with the pin.
Thanks.

Not yet!!!!, and if it does, I sure hope I see them down before I get too close to a kerb, that would do some real damage to the mounting brackets and steps.

No problems yet, on either the 3255, or now on the 3600, stairs pretty stiff on both. If it does happen, the pin is a good solution. However, our cousins who have a Montana used WD40 on their stiff stairs, and now have to use a bungee while traveling or the stairs fall down.

We had ours blow out with high winds on our other Monty - went to Lowe's and got a pin and cotter keys, worked like the ones in previous pics with the holes in the frame of the steps. So far no problem with the new Monty.
Safe travels.
