How to find your wall supports
When cutting a hole in the side of your trailer, it's helpful to know where the wall supports, or wall studs are. I found that when dew is on the trailer, you can see them clearly. I know the long time members know this, but some new owners may not have this information.

Did you ever try a stud finder? I would have to take DW to the ER if she thought I was even thinking of cutting a hole in the trailer. I did try one (stud finder) on a glass table with metal support, and it worked well. I was demonstrating to one of my son's friends how to use it.

Might have to wait a few years out here for some dew, currently the humidity is 12%.

Ya Ozz - we don't have dew here in CO. In fact we pump water into our air to keep us from turning into dust. Guess I'll have to spend the night in Kansas to find the studs - so to speak - or maybe you could sketch us a schematic of your 3400 next dewy morning.
By the way - based on your pics I guess 16 inch on center does not mean much in the RV industry. More like 16 foot on center.

I think my DW would be taking ME to the ER if I even suggested taking a chain saw or 4 inch hole saw to our Monty.
