Surprise, surprise

Well, while we were on our western seven state tour, we happened across a small church in Port Hadlock, WA. The pastor was leaving because his wife has terminal cancer. The short of it is that this morning Oak Bay Baptist Church voted to have me serve as their interim pastor beginning on 1 September 2009. This means we could possible be in Washington for up to two years.

This is not quite what I had planned, but then neither was two years in Hong Kong. I am constantly amazed at where and how God lays out His adventure for us. Prayer support would be very welcome as we embark on our new adventure.

Stiles and Diana,

We truly never know what is around the next bend in the road. It is great seeing you find the road that has been laid out for you. Enjoy your new road and don't forget your friends in the MOC.

The Lord truly works in mysterious ways.

Congratulations on your new venture. Did you ever consider writing a book? I'll bet it would be an interesting read. I'm sure God must have sent you to that little church as the timing was perfect. You will be in our prayers.

We were transfered to Langley BC and thought we would be here maybe 2-5 years and are going on our 9th year. You never know what God has in mind for you, as has been mentioned. We have finally applied for permanent status here as they will not renew our visitor status again.

We pray for God's guidence and assistance as you "fill in the gap."

Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)

11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Ya just never know what He has planned next!!

Good luck and God bless you, Stiles.

Things happen for a reason, right? Obviously you were at the right place, at the right time. Our prayers are with you and also with the departing pastor and his wife.

What an incredible turn of events. We'll pray for the departing pastor and especially for the comfort of his wife. We'll pray for you and your wife as you continue his Voice.

We'll pray the Church can provide you hookups so that you can continue living in your awesome RV. But if you have to settle for a stick house, that's okay too.

We're still looking forward your stories, humor and insight for the MOC, too!

Take Care!

Stiles, that makes us to be serving in sister churches. Maybe we will run across each other at the NWBC annual meeting.
