Level-Up System

We have a 2014 Montana 3100RL . I have noticed a popping sound from the front drivers side "Level-Up" jack. It appears that the front drivers side of the 5th wheel is getting lower. I remember seeing an article hyper-linked in the forum about replacing or adding to the hydraulic oil. Does anyone have that article.

Thanks

my level up specifies using auto trans fluid type A OR Dextron3 or Mercon not Hydraulic oil and some people are adding motorcycle fork oil to the tank as well, mine was popping all the time but it finally just stopped after about 6 mo of use

There are many postings on this forum and other forums about the popping sound. Lippert responds that there is a fluid (1 quart) of high grade fluid that can be added to reduce/eliminate the noise. I do not remember what the fluid is but if you go to the Lippert web site and review the info on level systems, it addresses the fluid. My system does pop on occasion but it has not been serious enough to take any actions..yet.

This past summer, Lippert issued a Lipsheet on this problem. Go to http://www.lci1.com/support/leveling...veling/levelup

Then go to the Lipsheets and scroll down to 0295 ADDING ANTI-STICTION FLUID TO LCI HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS

This will give instructions on solving the popping from the Level Up system. I added the CAT product and that stopped the popping.

0291 LCI HYDRAULIC OPERATION FLUID RECOMMENDATION at the same location provides Lippert's recommendations on what hydraulic fluids to use in their systems.

I found putting blocks under the jack pads seems to eliminate the popping, especially if parked on pavement
