Aw S**T

Anyone want to buy a slightly damaged 2007 3075 RL. Ours is laying on it's side in the median of I-80 just west of Laramie, A truck passed us in the middle of a blinding snow storm and the Monty started to fishtail and spun us sideways into the median and then rolled on it's side.

Gail and I are fine not hurt at all. The truck and Monty are beiing towed into Laramie and then hopefully we will be told the truck is drivable so be can continue homeward. We will be leaving the Monty in Laramie for an adjuster to look at. I hope they total it but we will see.

More later as we learn whats happening.

The important thing is that you and your wife are ok! Things can be replaced, lives cannot!

Wow, that sucks big time! We are glad to hear you and Gail are fine. I assume the trailer drug the truck onto it's side too. Hopefully you have just sheet metal damage on the truck. Good thing there is a new 3400 waiting for you at home.

Maybe having the keys locked inside the truck was an omen?

Glad that you and Gail were not hurt, that is the most important thing. Everything else can be fixed or replaced.

Update:

After seeing the Monte after they turned it right side up I am amost certain it will be a total. Just hope they will give us what are trade in was going to be.

Not much damage to the truck. Have to replace the right bed side and the floor of the bed and the tailgate but the rest looks OK.

The SuperGlide hitch looks repareable. We'll see.

For now we will go to the yard tomorrow and get what we can out of the Monty and head for home.

From your description, I gather the hitch let go and didn't drag the truck over with the trailer. That's really good news as the bed is easily replaced, and more importantly, the unique Montana decals on the side of the truck are still intact.

If it is a total (let's hope it is), it seems like the value has already been established. Ergo - trade-in value = insurance value.

Don and Gail,
I am shocked and saddened to learn of your accident. We are so happy to know that you and Gail suffered no injuries. I do hope you get the full value you expected. And now I'm happy you were not able to get the new rig in time to drag to Texas! I wish we were closer so we could help but travel safely on your way home.

First of all ... Steve and I are so glad we met you and Gail at the Rally.

Secondly ... sooooooooooooooo glad you two are okay ... and your vehicle is drivable. Assume you haven't been able to determine the status/salvageability (is that a word?) of the stuff inside (including the basement).
