We inserted plexiglass into the bottom half of our screen door, so the dog wouldn't ruin the screen. I think you can do it with the top half and attach it with mirror holders. That's the simple solution, maybe not the one you're thinking of.

WildBigBill, if you look on the MOC Show and Tell page, Fulltimedreamer gives a full description and photos of how he installed the "storm door" on his screen. We're getting ready to do ours this weekend. Good luck!

I installed velcro (about 3/8 wide) around the perimeter of the upper and lower screens and had home depot cut some 1/8 plexiglass to fit. I had a piece cut for the middle that just fits into the opening and it stays in there by it self. Now if we have a sunny but cool day we can leave the door open and we don't feel as though we are all cooped up. When it gets warm the plexiglass peels right off and we have a screen door again

CanDo, I can't seem to find the "Show and Tell" page.....I'd like to see the storm door pictures. Is that the actual name of the heading?

We also made plexiglass panels for our screen door. We cut four panels, including the sliding panel. Absolutely love it. They are easy to remove whenever we want and allow much light and visibility.

Here's the site of another person who made plexiglass panels for their door:

mfoss, when you first go to www.montanaowners.com, at the bottom of that page is the heading MOC Member's Show and Tell. There are some really amazing folks out there with some great ideas. We've done a few of these changes and plan on a few more. So thankful you all share both what works and what doesn't.
