3400 w/d install.

hi, for any of you who may be installing a dryer vent on a 3400RL, '06 model ... we found you can vent thru the floor. Go to Home Depot or Lowe and get a "Dryer vent Draft Blocker" by deflect-o harware, 4 inch version.
remove the little swinging door, and facing the W/D closet place the draft blocker on the right rear floor. with the flange against the wall, move the other flange out 1/2 inch and mark the floor with a marking pen on the out side of the round vent part. a hole placed here will miss all support and structural parts.
cutting a hole from the outside thru the aluminium app 3 inches in from the edge will clear the steel frame and hit no wires, etc. this is on the bottom flat area about 30 inches infront of the door.
two multiple joint 4 inch aluminum elbows will connect the hole in the floor to the bottom hole.
we inserted the aluminum elbow from below up thru the floor, then inserted the draft blocker into the elbow and moved the whole thing till the flange on the draft blocker was flush with the floor. four screws thru the flange secures it. five small screws from the inside thru the wall of the draft blocker and aluminum elbow into the flooring secures that. finnish work on the outside and you can hook up a standard dryer vent to the inside at the draft blocker.

We just installed a w/d in our 3280 last week and luckly could vent to the outside. I say that because I'm under the impression that when the dryer is running there will be some moisture escaping from the vent. If this is the case, where will the moisture from your installation go?

Our Splendide 2100 is vented outside, low down. You will find that every so often lint is blown out of it as they is no lint screen to be cleaned in the machine. If the lint cannot escape I would assume things could get clogged.

Hi, maybe i try again ... the vent and moisture end up venting out of the bottom of the unit, just in front of the steps. On our last install the vent went out thru the wall and did not look that great, this method you have no visible vent on the outside wall. Your Spendide should have a lint screen at the back top

I agree with Diana. We have ours temporally vented into the basement and there is a lot of lint coming out. Ours is new (2005).
Happy trails....................
