TV ??
I just bought a 2002 Mountaineer TT 315 RLS and I want to find the correct TV to fill the cabinet space. I've seen pictures of silver trim and also black trimed tv's. I want the black one so it will match the stereo and speakers.
Can anyone tell me the brand, model number and where to find one that will fill the space?

First of all, WELCOME to the MOC.
Don the TV's placed in these rigs are not RV specific. These are the same TVs you would buy for your home.
I suggest that you take the measurements of the cabinet space and pay a vist to your local TV dealer, WalMart, Sears, etc.

Hello Don,
Welcome to the MOC.
Your 315RLS I believe has the same TV cabinet as the 335RLBS. We have talked about this subject here in the past. Try the Search at the top this forum. Type in Toshiba in the subject line and Search the last 120 days. I think this might help with your TV shopping.

Glad to have you aboard on the MOC. You asked your question in the right place. These guys and gals are sharp and friendly.
If you want to spend the money, you can increase your storage and purchase a thin flat screen for between $500 and $1,000. Just saw one that would be perfect in a store last evening. Outstanding picture and resolution. It was only about 5" to 6" deep so all that area (usually taken up by the big old vacuum tube) behind the thin, light weight, easily manageable television could be converted to some other use.
One thing I thought about was building mail slots or sorting boxes like is found in rolltop desks. Could have the back tilted slightly downward to keep stuff from flying out.

Vic, We have the same model 2004. The opening for our set is 20 1/2H x 26W x 17 3/4D. Most televisions are deeper but we found a great KLH set at BestBuy for less than $150.

As Azstar mentioned the depth is the key. Two years ago we found an Emerson with built in DVD and VCR that just fit depth wise at Walmart. It is a 20 inch I believe and there is about 1 inch of "free space" on each side and a couple of inches "free space above it. The base of the TV snuggly fits in the cabinet and the center of the screen sticks out about an inch. Given some of the new return policies at some stores make sure you have in writing that if it does not fit you can return it.

We have the 2004 Mountaineer 315 and I would imagine it has the same TV cabinet space as yours. I purchased a 20" flat screen from Sears that fit in the space perfectly. I think the TV is a Sharp and it cost $139.00. I will check on the make and model (which is in the camper) in a few days when the snow melts a bit and the temperatures rise to 30 degrees hopefully. I will let you know.

any TV from walmart will do...as long as the measurements fit. measure lenght, width, and depth to make sure...but they are no different than the one at home!

I bought a 24' Toshiba after posting a similar question on this forum. The thread is referenced above. The TV fit very well into the compartment after the vertical stiles were moved out about an inch. There was a good tip on that thread about how the TV temp will affect your thermostat unless you take preventive measures.

I bought a 23" Sanyo for our 305FKS. I made a cardboard template of the area for the TV and measured the max height. When I went to Sears looking, no-one seemed to have time to help me - until I laid that cardboard on the floor and proceeded to pick the TV up off the shelf !! I had a salesman doing that for me before I could even get it unplugged !!
