Filling holes in walls

What is everyone using to fill holes in walls when removing screws from the factory? I have made some changes in my rig that have left holes from removed screws. For example, I added drawer slides to my head banger door over the command center. Doing so I removed the factory hinges. I now have holes where the screw were. Also I am interested in removing the metal bracket that holds the bottom of the curtains. I will need to fill those holes.

I have just left them as is. While you may get a plastic wood filler to fill the holes in the eighth inch thick wood sheet, the plastic covering on our walls will be hard to match and I doubt much would stick to it long term. As far as holes left in the hickory wood from removing hinges, wood filler tinted after the filler is dry with a mind as pencil in a shade that works with your wood stain should work. For me, that is close to gunstock shade.
