Big Sky?

I was just looking through the Montana website to see what Mountaneer is, and I can't find the Big Sky Montana - Are they gone?

I always thought I would eventually go to the Big Sky, with the nicer gel coat, wheels, and trim. I even think they had some with a two tone exterior. Did the regular Montana line just absorb Big Sky?

Did the regular Montana line just absorb Big Sky? For all intent and purpose YES.

BigSky was dropped nearly years ago. The new Montana's had everything available that the BigSky had so Keystone saw no need for a duplicate. About the only thing you can't get in a Monty is the full paint option the BigSky had. I think that was a mistake, they should have kept it as an option on the Monty.

That is too bad, but I'm sure its a more efficient production line. The had some gorgeous colors for them in the lot back in 03, and thats what we wanted had there been a 2955 version.

Maybe when I'm actually ready, they will re-introduce the full paint gel coat for the Montana line - Hint Hint!

The only Big Sky that we went into we immediately noticed that it had a thicker pad under the carpet than our Montana. Too bad Keystone did not incorporate that into the Montana's, otherwise most of the Big Sky looked just like the interior in our 3295RK.

Keystone dropped the Big Sky line when the incorporated everything from that into the Montana, and brought out the Cambridge. I was happy to see that many of the Big Sky features went into the Montana, but still think it was a bad decision to drop the Cambridge.

We are hoping that they'll bring back the Big Sky someday as we really like ours. They have incorporated many of the features into the Montana but we still have some "bling" that isn't in the Montanas yet. Not much mind you though as they have improved them so much.

Still it would be nice to have something not as heavy as the Cambridge or quite as expensive but a little plusher than the Montana if someone wants one. A Cadillac so to speak.

I don't know if we'll ever be fortunate enough to buy a new one but if we were and there was a Big Sky available, that's what we'd buy.
