Oregon Coast
We have heard that an Elks Lodge on the central OR. coast has a nice campground either at their Lodge or they own a commercial campground. I believe it is in the Florence area. I am a B.P.O.E. member and cannot find such a listing in the Elks RV travel books. Any help?
Thanks, Warren

The Florence Elks has RV parking at the lodge (asphalt lot) or at their (very nice) RV park about 1 mile away. Hamrad and jjackflash both stayed there last year. Hopefullt they will be along with more information.

Warren,
We stayed as guests of Jack and Terry Craig at the Florence Elk's CG. It is located north of town a mile or so. Very nice CG. Sites have a bit of vegetation between them and are plenty large for big rigs. They do have parking spots closer in town but as indicated by Carl it is pretty much a parking lot.... But you are closer in town.
If you opt for the CG on the north side of town watch carefully for the signage.... It is easily missed. As you are headed north the park is on the right side of the road.
If you get up toward Tillamook there is a very nice Elk's CG on the south side of town. Can't remember if the Lodge in town has parking places or not. We ended up spending over a week at the park south of town. Again watch carefully for the signs. Going north the park is on the right side of the road. If you get to the rest stop you've gone too far. Turn into the rest stop and turn around. Can't say enough good things about both the Florence and Tillamook CGs. Enjoy! Dennis and Mary Kay

Also, if you're into history, specifically aviation, the blimp hangar in Tillamook is a must see - very interesting and "the largest wooden structure in the world". It houses over thirty vintage aircraft.

I wish I could help out, but we are on the Southern Oregon Coast. The Gold Beach area, Turtle Rock Resort. It should show up somewhere online. Hope you find it, we have been here only two weeks and we are in paradise.

Thanks everyone. We are planning some time in that area after leaving Seven Feathers. Both areas sound like they're good for a few days stay.

We spend a lot of time in that area so be sure to include us in a discussion of what to do. If nothing else, have dinner at the Waterfront Depot when you are in Florance! Call ahead for reservations (541) 902-9100.

Jack: Great, looking forward to it. Think I may go ahead and make reservations prior to 7F.
Carl: Is that a seafood restaurant...that and Italian are our favorites.

Warren: They specialize in seafood, but offer alternatives. The house specialty is Crab Encrusted Halibut but if you ask they will prepare salmon the same way. Both are wonderful. The menu is written on a chalk board and changes with availability. But most of the entrees are always available. I think we have tried almost everything on their menu and *NEVER* been disappointed. Here is a link to their menu:

P.S. Try the Oregon Berry Cake for dessert. Makes me salivate just thinking about it.
