winter 2009

We usually spend the winters on a boat, but are taking this year off and looking for something to do in a warm place... Unfortunately that leaves a limited number of choices... anything north of mid Florida is just too cold so that seems to leave south west Texas or Mexico/central america.... We're retired Canadians..(.the english speaking ones) We have done a winter in Florida and found it boring at times (but no snow) There are a few of us contemplating Baha, eastern Mexixo, belize etc and would be interested in hooking up with or corresponding with people with experience or similar interests.
We have a montana 36 and have been full time since we purchased it in jan 2004. we have covered every state except Vermont and Nebraska , been to alaska, every province ex NFLD and have done umteen trips back and forth to Florida. Our Cats have more miles on them than most cars !!! (we estimate that we have about 125000 miles on the Montana by now and surprisingly still love it in spite of it being our primary home for going on 6 years) drop an email if you have any interest/info on mexico/central america

You might check out where we go in the winter...Fountain of Youth RV Resort and Spa. Lots to do and about 65-75% Canadians. We have 1200 spaces are a no reservation park so if you come in for 3 days and like it decide to stay 7 , then a month no one bumps your space, no moving because someone reserved it!!!! Bocce Ball, Horseshoes, Poker, Cards, Cue Club, PingPong, Tennis, Hiking , Shuffleboard, Water Exercise, Water Volleyball. Temps are usually low to mid 70's inJan/Feb. But a warning, if the wife likes to be close to shopping, restuarants etc, that might cause a problem. We are 1 hour from Palm Springs area and 1 hour to El Centro, 2 hours to Yuma and 2 hours to Algodnes Mexico. But the air is clear, you hear the coyotes at night and there is no traffic noise. Maybe we will see you there. We are in space 81..come by for a visit. Teresa

We have been going to Catalina Spa in Desert Hot Springs, CA for the past eight winters and really like it. Days are nice and warm and nights are cool through the months of November to February. We can get you five nights for $25 (total) with full hookups (30- or 50-amp) if you don't mind sitting through a 45 minute spiel about the park and its benefits.

Park has two pools, two spas, two club houses and there are many things to do in the Palm Springs, CA area.
