Florida in WInter

We are wondering where some of you spend your winters when you are in Florida. We are thinking about possibly coming to Florida and then stopping at the Rally in Georgia in March

Kountree Kampinn in Naples. Like John said, lots of parks in the area, but make sure you have reservations before showing up. The parks fill up fast in January and are full until March.

If you are a fisherman, we stay at Lake Rousseau Fishing Resort, in Crystal River. This will be our 4th year there and there are lots of nice people, some that like to fish and some do not. I think around 140 sites.

A new RV Resort ( Cedar Key RV Resort) is being built at this time on Hwy. 27. They are in the stage of taking deposits for the option of buying. The park is 6 miles out of the town of Cedar Key, Fl. They should have phase 1 ready by next summer.
If interested go online, Cedar Key RV Resort, prices are at $49,950.00 at this time, but have had one price increase already. Just some info. if anyone is interested.

Hello:

We are headed to Bushnell FL (Blueberry Hill RV Park) on 12/29 -- We will stay there for 6 weeks and then move over to Winter Garden RV park until the end of March and then meander up the east coast and arrive back sometime mid-april

This will be our first winter in Florida so we are testing two places and will be scouting out others for future winters in Florida

We plan on meeting some of you folks at the Tampa RV show

We just need to leave earlier next year -- we have already had two winter events and are expecting at least two (2) more in the coming days

18 days to departure -- but who is counting ??

We are at Encore Lake Magic...Trailer life lists it under Orlando South...We are between Davenport and Kissimmee (our mailing address is Clermont??) and only 6 miles from Disney property. We can vaguely hear the fireworks at night but cannot see them. This is our third year here and we are also seasonal workers for Disney in Guest Relations. We love it and will definitely be back here next year. There are several Montanas in this park, but not sure if any of the others are members of MOC.

rps Blueberry Hill in Bushnell is really nice. We go there with our GS Club usually twice a year. The management is nice and very helpful. They have really grown in the last couple of years. Hope they keep their prices reasonable and not like the park across the road (The Oaks). We were told they sold out to some money company from up north.

Richard & Nell:

Thanks for the info on Blueberry Hill -- we drove thru there last January when we were scouting out places to stay --

The Front office was very helpful and gave us a lot of good information and their rates are reasonable as well

We look forward to our visit --

we have finally decided that we are going to be spending February at Avon Park, FL where we are meeting some friends at a church run campground--Orange Blossom Fellowship Community. Maybe we will get a chance to see some of you MOC'ers while we are there.

OK thanks for the information, the past 2 years a group of us have met at Elko GA just south of Perry at Twin Oaks RV park for a few days the last weekend in March just to say hi to each other and have a few days of fun and games and of course eating together. Just thought that was what you were talking about, as I have not organized it for 2008 as I did last year. If anyone is interested just post here and we will see what interest we have.... guess it would be March 28th - 30th or 31st. Don't know if we can make it this year as we may go to see my Brother in VA on our way home to MI that same weekend.
