Purchasing new Legacy 3931FB
My wife and I just purchased a 2022 Legacy 3931FB, with full body paint, from RV Outlet in Ringgold, VA. We are not new to RVing, just this particular model. We just sold our Forest River Rockwood 8289 and previously owned a Pace Arrow motorhome. We are picking up the RV in the afternoon of Monday, July 18. I'm looking for suggestions or advice of things to particularly pay attention to or look out for when we are there for the demo and walk through. Asking about the good and the bad. Would like to be aware of potential problems we should spot before leaving the dealership. Like I said, we are not newbies to RVing, and are asking advice of seasoned Montana users.
Thank You, and we look forward to being a part of this forum!

We ordered our unit from them, unless you're nearby I'd find a CG near there and shake down the unit. Our batteries were poorly installed in the battery box - I was going Lithium right away so wasn't a big deal to me. I'm a geek so iN Command came easy to us, their walk thru of stuff wasn't great (I think theh were PO'd that we used an RV inspector).

I agree with RipNC. We have really enjoyed our 3921FB!
There is nothing to be especially aware of for this unit - or any other model. Stuff happens to all models. I have had no major issues with my RV. I have fixed the small stuff myself (with lots of knowledge gained here). The BEST thing you can do is read this forum on a regular basis and familiarize yourself with the issues that come up for all of us and understand the fixes/solutions shared here. I may not have had any big issues YET but my day will come when I least expect it. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or share experiences.

Ask them to swap the tires from off your old camper and put them on your new camper. They are probably better tires.

I would not sign any paperwork until after the PDI is completed to your satisfaction. I would make them run every system including how to override slides manually, verify the spare tire is installed etc. Before the paperwork is signed is when you have the most leverage and typically will get anything that does not work fixed in shortest amount of time.
Good luck, congratulations and I hope they don’t find anything wrong in your PDI.
Happy roads to you.

Welcome and congrats on the rig. Obviously you're not new to RVing so you already what to expect. My advice, check absolutely everything 10 times. Pay close attention to you Schwintek slides. Ask them about common component failures. If their truthful they'll set the proper expectations. If you have upgraded solarflex with an inverter ask a lot of questions. MOC probably knows more then most dealerships. Other then that normal RV stuff. Cheers!

Congratulations on your new Legacy and welcome to the MOC family! When we did our PDI I had the DW video as much of the walk through inspection / orientation as possible. Glad she did so as there were times I needed to review the video. Doesn't take long to go into information overload. Good luck and happy camping!

Video record the WHOLE walk through on your phone. You will not remember everything told to you. Good luck and enjoy. (After you get past the learning curve, lol)

Before you sign anything, have them plug the Rig into a 50amp. A generator on the back of a golf cart doesn't cut it.
BLAST your AC.
Sit where you would normally sit or stand. Lay down on your bed as if you were going to sleep. Stand in your bathroom, your kitchen. DO YOU FEEL THE AIR coming out of vents? OR must you search for a spot that has trickling air flow?
Do not allow the sales person to pull your leg and say, 'oh it is working fine SEEEEEEEEE- as they point a hand held thermometer thingy in the air. Or, Isn't the quit-cool amazing, it is like MAGIC.
NOPE this is not Magic Air--fix the ducts, we should FEEEEEEEL air coming out.

PDI Update
Went to pick up the camper today. My wife and I spent 5 1/2 hours looking at all facets of the rig as indicated on the checklist. We found 12 rather significant items that need to be repaired, the greatest being problems with the full body paint. There are chips and scratches, however, there are significant smudged areas directly over the hot water heater, the storage doors on both sides, and it appears there is white overspray specs on the black and gray paint. After some confrontation with the sales force, the general manager and the service manager agreed that the paint job by Keystone in those areas was poor, and they would "tell Keystone they needed to take care of it." The dealership is going to hire a paint/body company to try to solve the problems. We were informed that it might take a week. Again, thanks to all of you who have commented and contributed your ideas and experiences. This was invaluable, especially the checklists. We will keep you posted.

The one downside to full body paint. As the trailer travels and flexes the paint will chip and crack. But if that's the only major thing you found I'd call it a win!

Watch that upper cabinet
DW and I purchased our 3931FB and after getting it home and forgetting to close the door to the control cabinet I nearly knocked DW out by leaving cabinet door open. I have removed the panel from the door and no more issues., Safe travels!

Not sure if you took possession yet.
We had a very favorable purchase with RvOutlet 3 years ago.
1. Video of PDI- Yes
2 Make sure they plug in and run water to your ice maker..many are not turned ion and they have to pull out the stove to get to our switch.
What everyone told you about Ac… the vent modification might be up to you to do.
3. Stayed a few miles away for a week, was able to take unit back, leave for a day and they fixed 90 percent. Shipped a new leveling Jack to us in CA had it installed at an authorized dealer no cost.
4 . Bought the Cornerstone extended warranty and used it several times..(none factory items) no problem.
Get to know Sam Lenerich at keystone - awesome advocate… helped us with our frame flex… yes, drove to factory from CA last year.. Repaired under warranty… all good and happy campers.

Also, my Son and I replaced the plastic water line to our residential refrigerator with a braided water line. The plastic line failed and the crimped flare popped off at the connector on the frig and flooded our floor and we needed to drop the under trailer fabric to dry the insulation and below components. The joys of rving. Always something to keep you young. Now we enjoy cool water and ice cubes out of the frig.
