Anyone with a Flex Hose?
The commercials for this hose are so frequent they are almost annoying. Does anyone have any experience with these?
Their size and lightweight make it seem like a good idea for RVers but I have some concerns and wonder if anyone has any experience.
There seem to be other brands coming out of the woodwork, too. So far I've seen these in two colors, green and blue, which would satisfy I like to use different colors between fresh and black water uses.
For example, the ends of the hose are plastic. My experience with plastic hose parts is they crack and break too often. While I prefer brass or metal at the connectors, I wonder if the plastic used with these is much more durable. If the end does break it does not appear it can be repaired with a conventional repair kit, but I don't know.
Does anyone have these and how's it working for you?

Funny you should ask. I just bought a 50' model because of the weight to clean the roof and my first impression was wow, how flimsy, this thing won't make it through the first use. But I am surprised. It really does work and it does expand and contract like they show on TV. I used it through my pressure regulator and water softener so I'm not sure how long it will last at full city pressure. It was way lighter on the roof than with a rubber hose and when all the water is out of it, it doesn't weigh anything. I am a Missouri Hillbilly, Show Me State, so it is hard to impress me, but I've got to tell you, I'm impressed. Your mileage may vary, but I like it..
Edit; I forgot to say. If something breaks on it you are done. Throw it away a buy another. Ain't no repairing it.

My neighbor had the same experience back when we had a stick house. Happened to him soon enough I wasn't willing to try.

I was told by a salesman in Quartzsite that you should not use it for drinking water because it is made from a rubber product.

I loved it until the cheap plastic fitting broke on mine after 2 weeks just like LCBoyer said too bad they can not make the fitting a little more robust, go to Amazon's website and you will get the same reviews

Just picked up one this week. Installed brass quick connectors on it and wraped them with Rescue Tape. Time will tell.

They have one at the country club, use it for washing out carts, etc, been run over a thousand times and still doesn't leak , may have a bad fitting, the one at the club doesn't, but the hose is holding up great.

They are pretty handy, but they are not drinking water safe.

Just got a 50 footer. Used it a few times...it's fun to watch it grow and shrink. Mine works fine so far. It's light weight and easy to store but I won't use it for any heavy duty water work. BTW, the instructions specifically state "DO NOT USE FOR POTABLE WATER". Doesn't give a reason why.

Consumer Report just tested all three major flex hoses, Pocket Hose $28. FlexAble Hose,$39,and DAP X Hose,$48. All three lived up to most of their TV informercial promises in our kinking, twisting, slashing, and freezing tests. We even found a clear winner, the Pocket Hose, if you want higher flow far from the spigot but have wimpy water pressure. If any part is damaged in the hose it can't be repaired. None burst unil water pressure reached 200 psi. Keep out of the sun if not in use. They may also shrink under low water pressure. They all did a good job at 60psi but at 40psi they stated to retract. The PocketHose shrank the least, losing roughly 10 feet of lengh compared with 30 feet for the others. Because they shrink to their original size when the water is turned off all thre are poor choices for sprinklers.

I read the customer reviews on Amazon, I think. I was going to throw a couple on the truck, but after reading so many negative reports, I passed. Just bought a medium duty hose at Lowe's for $9. and some change.
