BEE HIVE IN BED A/C UNIT
Has anyone had a problem with Bee's or wasps building a hive in the bedroom roof top A/C. Today was the second time I had to clean it out. Last summer I had the same problem. Would like to hear if anyone has a cure for this? I do not have any problem with the living room A/C. It's always the bedroom A/c. Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't got a solution, but I feel your pain (literally). Last summer I was on the roof cleaning, unaware that there were bees until I dropped my brush on top of the bedroom A/C and got swarmed. I didn't think I could still move that fast. What worked for me was taking the trailer camping. By the time we reached our destination, the bees were gone and I got rid of the hive. From that point on, I've kept an eye out when up there. I'll spray stuff underneath occasionally to keep them out. Seems to be working.

I cannot think of anything other than spraying occasionally with a strong bug spray. Fortunately, we have never had that problem. Mice however, plenty.

I have had them under the Refrigerator Vent and Hitch!Also on a few occasions bird nest's in the hitch.Was reading an Article the other day about the many uses of WD 40 they sujested a light spray to deter insect nest's

Haven't had the issue with my Montana, probably because it has been moving frequently. But I leave a 24' enclosed trailer stationary most of the time and wasp always build nests in and around the hitch area of it. I have used wasp spray but they always come back. I guess I have never went out there on a cool night and actually sprayed them while they were all in the nest though.
I may try the WD-40 trick though.

I have never checked, but is it possible to remove the cover and install some screen on the inside of the cover and around the base of the unit to keep the bees from getting in there in the first place?

An article I read the other day said the moth balls worked for insects as well as rodents. Don't know if that's true or not. Have used moth balls in a piece of panty hose to keep pack rats out of engine compartments for years and that does work for them.

I think it might be kind of hard to put screening since it has a lot of area to cover. Maybe a cover while in storage??
