Lower fuel cost ?
California has many additional costs built into fuel prices. But today I paid. $3.87 gal. I tell you, that's unheard of in my neck of the woods. I bought 70 gal I was so excited! Lol. I know other States may already be lower, but Redding Ca has always been high !

Paid $3.02 for regular gas for the car yesterday in Yuma. And yes Michael I am aware that I need to buy my gas and diesel on our side of the river.

Don't knock it Artemus.... I live in Murrieta/Temecula way south of you and diesel is around $3.99. That's still not so bad in this neck of the woods.
I use to tow trailers through Redding and it was a frequent stop prior to going north or topping off after coming south through the mountains. That was when fuel prices were $4.25 and up. It was one of the main reasons I had to quit towing. The price of fuel and the idiot dispatcher that didn't know her geography and would screw up my trips sending me too far and costing me more fuel and not reimbursing me. "Oops, I'm sorry." didn't pay my fuel bills.

I don't think there is anywhere that gas/diesel is taxed more than it is here in BC.
Current we are paying 1.35 per litre x 3.8 litre's per US gal is equal to $5,13 per US gal.
I don't drive my truck any more than I have to around here.

Don't mean to be a jerk here, but, ....I just love when Europeans and Canadians b**** about gas prices. I get to pay $650 a month for plain health insurance with no vision or dental, try that one on a fixed income!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot! .....And $20 co-pay for every office visit, $20 for each lab work, and $30 for each of 4 prescriptions.

Not sure I was B****ing, but in a country fairly rich in oil reserves unlike a lot of European countries who have to import all their oil, I think we are way overtaxed on the price of our fuels.
Yes we are fortunate to have affordable universal health care, however it does not include dental or vision and there are many seniors here who cannot afford the medications they are supposed to be taking, since it does not pay for that either. I don't know how to fix your problem, it is tough for many here as well. Contrary to some folks beliefs everything is not paid for here either.
US Health care is a controversial topic among our American friends, it is not something I as a Canadian feel I wish to comment on, besides that, it is a whole new topic, well away from the price of fuel.

$3.60 for diesel here in Roswell, NM and $2.82 for regular unleaded. Diesel was down in the 3.30 range but has jump back up during the past month or so.

Yes, I feel you on that level, and perhaps my comment was a little over the top in referring your quote to my little rant, because the "little guy" is always the one who gets raked over the coals when it comes down to taxes and costs of living. ....and I'm fairly sure that overall, once you figure in all of tax liabilities, fees, and extra stuff we are required to pay out for, it pretty much evens out somehow no matter what country you live in.
Heck, if I wanted to complain(B****) about diesel prices, I would invoke the arguement about how much more I have to pay than the guys in Venezuela($0.02 USD per liter, yes you read that right, two US pennies per liter = 7.6 cents a gallon) or Iran at 15.2 cents a gallon, or Saudi Arabia at 38 cents a gallon. Gasoline is even cheaper than that! But, there are other costs incurred by them, such as lack of civil liberties, abject poverty of the masses, living under a dictatorship, etc., etc., you get my point.
My big beef is health care costs here in the US, and when somebody from Canada or Europe hears that little gem, they say, "Yeah, we get cheap (or free) health care, but look how much more income tax we pay than you do!", ...or property tax, or "XYZ" tax.
We're all getting screwed, pretty much equally in my estimation, and there ain't a whole lot that any of us can do about it either.
Didn't mean to pick on you, you're Montana family, sorry about that.

I'll be darned.....so Costco DOES have diesel....in other parts of the country. Here in the NW, not a single Costco (that I know of) has diesel, just gas. The gas is cheap(er) so we buy there, but sure wish they had diesel too. Don't know why they don't???
