Valve in City Water Connection
Not a big issue, but I noticed that when there is a demand for fresh water from the city water connection I can hear that little valve or what ever it is making noise. Is this part replaceable or for that matter required for the water connection to work properly?
Thanks

Not sure what you are talking about. Can you describe it more?

I think you are talking about the check valve that prevents water from going back out the city port when the hose is not connected. If that is it, yes it can be replace.
More important yes it is required because it prevents water from flowing out when you turn on the holding tank pump when not connect to city water.

John, do you know if it is simply threaded in or do you need to replace the entire receptacle?
Thanks

The check valve is part of the portion you hook the hose too. So you just replace it.
You will have to open the panel from the inside of the basement to gain full access.

Mine makes noise also. I don't think the fact that it makes noise means it is defective. If it is defective you will get water flowing out of the connection when using the onboard pump and not hooked up to city water.

Mine was making noise and was not sealing. On mine the check valve was not replaceable without replacing the entire water inlet box. I removed the box, disassembled the check valve, replaced the O-ring which was not seated on the plunger, and reassembled. Fixed the problem. Took about 45 minutes start to finish. Wish I had taken pictures to display the steps but common sense will show you the way. Only tools needed was a square drive screw driver to remove the box, craft knife to cut the caulk, straight screw driver to remove 3 hose clamps, long nose pliers to pull the plastic retainer off the check valve shaft, caulk to seal it back up.
