Propane blockage

On the 2010 3400RL we acquired last summer, propane won't flow from the doorside tank. The switchover valve is on the other side. I assume the most likely problem is with the 15psi pressure regulator between the doorside tank pigtail and the pipe going across to the other side. That should be easy to replace, but does anyone think the problem might be elsewhere?

It may actually be the pigtail itself. The excess flow valve in the plastic nut assembly may be stuck closed. If you turn off that tank, remove the pigtail, and tap it solidly, you may get lucky and get it free. After connecting it back to the tank, open the valve very slowly so, if the excess flow valve did open, you don’t cause it to close again. If the pigtails on your rig are original, it may be a good idea to just replace both of them, as the hoses can start deteriorating with age. Ours got very hard and wouldn’t flex anymore, so I have replaced them with new ones.

I would replace the pigtail first by swapping it out with the other side. I think you will find the problem switching sides and getting a new pigtail.

You said you acquired it last summer. If you cut the valve on to fast it has a shut off in it to prevent gas from escaping to fast and will cut off the gas.

I have also had the tank internal valve shut off by opening it too fast. I swapped it from side to side and finally turned it upside down and dropped it a couple of inches to jar it loose. No more problems for several years.
