Built in surge protector

We just today wrote the big check to the motor home company! First time owners. We are the proud parents of a 2016 High Country 305RL. The tech who did the inspection with us said that our model has a built in surge protector. Said that it is mounted behind the main control panel inside the 5th. We want to be absolutely certain of this. Does anyone know if this is standard in our particular model or is it something that would have been added. Not sure we would know how to verify its existence. Any advice would be appreciated.

This I'd have to actually see before believing!

I would want to see it and verify what brand it is. Once you know the brand go on the internet and read up on it. Not all surge protectors are created equal. Some only protect against a surge where others will protect against hi voltage, low voltage, open neutral, etc. Myself and many others on this forum use Progressive Industries as kind of the gold standard. See; http://www.progressiveindustries.net...our-products-2

He's probably talking about the battery wizard. It's not a surge protector though.

I agreed with Mark, the Converter with the Charge Wizard feature.

My dealer install the Progressive Industries EMS-HW50C behind our electrical fuse and breaker panel. The display for the EMS is mounted to the wall in the hall. If you don't see the display your don't have an EMS.

If it's a used unit the previous owner could have installed one, but as stated above I'd want to see it and understand what it really is.

If it was installed from the factory on a Montana fiver it would probably be news to everyone here, so that just leaves the possibility that your dealers had it installed, assuming you purchased a new unit. If he did, which I doubt because they are costly, you would have a separate book for it along with probably warranty card information.

I had to install my Progressive unit, it was not an option that was available, although for the 300 bucks, I think most of us out there would be fine paying 300 more and have it come as a standard feature...

Kinda think the tech didn't know what he was talking about.

What was the verdict? Did it come with an OEM built in surge protector or not? If not I am hopeful that you had them toss in at least a plug in model before camping.
