Finally
Well, the day is finally, really, truly here. Tomorrow we go to Indiana to pick up our Big Sky. We'll spend the weekend camping at their campground to check everything out completely and then have Monday and/or Tuesday if anything needs fixed. At the moment we're feeling a little overwhelmed. It's been a dream for so long, now to think of "dragging" that thing around behind us is a little scary, but exciting, too. Just wanted to share our anticipation and thank you all for your great advice and information. I'm sure we'll still have lots of questions. Wish us luck. Sue and Verle Castle

What an exciting time! We too hope that all goes well and that all your dreams come true! You'll be surprised how easy it is to tow that big Montana.
By the way, we're going to be in Le Roy from August 8 - 22. We might have to get a mini-rally together.

Our Big Sky is scheduled for completion on July 24th, so I'm hoping to hear yours is all that you expected!
Good luck and let us know how you do. I'm getting a little concerned about dragging that big thing down the road too.....but know we'll get over it once we get some experience. We may even get some lessons if we can find someone in this area. Unfortunately the Life on Wheels in Moscow, Idaho is next week....if it was in August, we'd definitely sign up.

Congratulations and good luck. Be sure to have your PDI copy with you. It helps to remind you what to check. You will have a great summer.

Wow, how exciting, we know you will love it. We sure do love our's...
We sent our dealer a copy of our PDI in advance and they went through it in detail before we got there so saved us a lot of time.

Sue,
Just a piece of advise. When we picked up our Big Sky after the NE Rally, we were not smart enought to realize that it sat lower in the truck then our Montana did. The service people didn't seem to notice the difference either, and before we parked the Big Sky in our
yard, we did some unneccessary damage to it.
The first thing was when Samuel turned to sharp and put the corner of his tool box into the front of the 5'er. The other incident happned when we tipped coming into our road and dragged the underside of the 5'er along the top rail of the pickup. All of this could have been avoided if Samuel had know to raise the hitch. After calling the dealership and talking to service, we realized that the hitch was only raised half way, by raising it to the top notch we have solved that problem. The Big Sky cleares the truck and utility box just fine.
Now she sits in a repair shop waiting for her molding and the hole to be fixed. Live and learn.
