Home again

We are madly unpacking and repacking, discarding and trimming down. This morning we were greeted by uncooperative propane tank switching and a burst water line (after the thaw). It got down to 38 in the Monty (29 outside). The freeze was a surprise. All repaired by evening.

The water line break was at the faucet where a "Y" was attached. The "Y" valve split open just below the faucet. That cheap pot metal piece was replaced with a brass four-valve manifold. I never did figure what caused the propane tank malfunction, but it finally started working.

We are missing the wonderful people of Hong Kong but are enjoying being back in the States.

So glad to hear that you are home. Sure that you will miss those dear friends that you made in Hong Kong--but know that all the folks on this side are happy to have you back. Don't be surprised by culture shock on the return trip to USA--it sometimes happens unexpectedly to those who have had wonderful overseas experiences. One of the most interesting parts of living overseas is the readjustment when you return to the USA. We were astounded at the things that we had forgotten and the things that occurred that we knew nothing about after our years in the UK. We were non-plussed when confronted with the auto-swipers for credit cards at WalMart and the grocery stores--had never seen one! Enjoy settling into the rig and catching up with family and friends here. Welcome back!

Welcome back to the Good Ole U.S. of A. Sorry to hear about the problems with the propane and water lines. It sounds like you have them squared away. Anyway, we'll look forward to your future adventures.
