Dual Rear Wheel Valve Extenders
Hi,
I have never had a DRW truck. I tried a search but didn't find what I was looking for. Basically I'm seeing rigid extenders and hose-type extenders. What are the pros/cons of each - what do you guys use? Seems like the hose-type would be a little awkward to keep the air hose on. If I have a certain make/year of pickup can someone tell me what angle extenders I need if I have stock wheels?
Thanks for any advice!

We have a 2011 that looks just like yours. We have the wheels that came with the lariet package. I could not get to the inside valves easily until I took off the outer rims and repositioned them so the inside and outside valves were across from each other roughly 180 degrees. I picked up one of those six inch dual head air chucks from Northern Tools for the compressor I carry, and now can easily to get all the air valves. Most of the folks I run across have done that rather then using additional extenders on the DRWs.

I've been running the flexible steel extenders for about 4 years. So far they are working great. Even work well with the Pressure Pro system. Got mine at a local auto store. Good luck. Dennis

When we got our 2011 F350 DRW I also looked at getting valve stem extenders. And all the info from those guys that had them said that they leaked and that I shouldn’t use them. So I did the same as 1retired06 did and purchased a six inch dual head air chuck. But after I purchased the dual head air chuck we got a new F450 ambulance at work that came with valve stem extenders on the duals and they work fine, and to date we have not had any issues with leaks.

After having my Dually truck for a few years, I've learned to pop off the Rims once or twice a year (Dealer airs them up when I get the tires rotated annually too)and air them up to the MAX load rating, which our trailer doesn't even meet based on weighing and let the tires "bleed" down naturally which is usually only a few to maybe 5 PSI based on the next airup. Since I drive my dually a few times a week completly unloaded, the tires just hold the air pressure very well. Only tow the trailer about 10 times per year.
However, I'v noticed when the air temp is really low (30's), they get a little flater until warmed up which happens just occasionally in AL.

I found out from experience when we has a class 'A', that unless you take a second to let a little air escape before you put the air chuck on the stem. If you don't, and there's a bit of dirt around the core, it will be blown in and could lodge in the core and let the air out.

Sorry for not getting back to you but was at work yesterday. If I remember right they are Phoenix Air Plus Valves. When I did a Google search I found them here http://www.buyautotruckaccessories.c...LAID=884805378 I will try to look when I return to work next and if different I will respond back.

Thanks for the info Karl. I just ordered a set of the extenders for my 2008 F-450 because I have always hated the hassle of just checking air pressure on the inside tires (I have not lined the stems up with the holes on the outide as of yet. So much to do, so little time). By the way, it looks as though we are neighbors up here in the Great Pacific Northwest! -Glenn
