Thief

Marilyn and I stopped for the night at Frog Hollow, near Genada, MS. Someone decided they needed our Carryout more than we did so they took it.

I bought a plastic coated dog tie out cable from Home Depot for my Tailgater. Padlock one end to the Tailgater and the other to a stabilizer or tree. At least it will stop the grab and run type theft.

We where really close to losing ours a few years back which was locked through our hitch. At that point we bought the ladder rack mount to keep it safer. Now they would have to climb the ladder and get it off there. At times we have even locked it on the rack. Thieves always have a way of living off those who live a honest good life! I hope they never get a moments enjoyment from it. Sorry for your loss.

This is the main reason I'm still using my Dish 1000.4 and 3 LNB on surveyor's tripod. Can also set up almost as fast as carryout.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I used to carry a long chain and two locks and would lock ours to whatever was available. Now with a roof rig we don't have as much concern and only the EMS is locked to the post.

That was one of the things we considered when deciding between a carry out sat and our travler. Same thought process went into the surge protection. We could have saved a ton of money for each but at least we don't have to worry about someone stealing those two things.

Ah-ha! I was wondering what a carry out was. We dropped satellite at our S&B years ago, and didn't even consider it for the camper.

That's a sad commentary. Campgrounds always seem so safe, but I guess times are changing. I can't even begin to fathom taking someone's dish.

Good thing it is only a rare thing to happen ,I know a bunch of people with them including myself that never have a problem with theft, 90% of the time we are at nice parks where people have expensive rigs and could afford one if they wanted to no need to steal one but when I stay at a questionable park I keep my eye on it for sure and pack it away at night, also I try to get to know my neighbors and we look out for each other

We didn't set up the antenna, left it in the back of the truck which was still hooked to the Montana.
