What a monster, I wouldn't want to drive it around after disconnecting from the Monty.

I was looking at one of these in Alaska before we left in '07. I had just about every option one would want AND an $85k price tag. Needless to say we only looked. I also agree with Jerry. Imagine trying to get into a parking lot with one of these.....

Yea, you would have to find a big field to turn it around, and to park it in. I bet the turning radius is really big too.

Really Nice!
I wouldn’t want the payments that would go along with it though!

Doesn't look any wider or longer than a 1 ton long bed.
Can't afford one!!!!

I wonder how long that thing is. I have enough trouble parking my 1 ton Dodge 3500 Mega Cab. I also heard that Dodge may be offering the Mega Cab with a long bed in 2010. I know there is a place in Salt Lake City that does long bed conversions.
My 3500 already hangs over two feet on each end in out parallel spaces in town.

I may be wrong, and Lindy could correct me, but doesn't the Kodiak have a 55 degree turning radius compared to the 33 degree of most pickups?

The only negative thing about this extraordinary TV is that the Dmax in this brute makes less power than the Dmax in our new pickups.

A lot of the wreckers around here use these (chassis) for their vehicles; very nimble and really tow well. Combined with the Allison tranny, mileage and all is super as well. As mentioned though --the price tag does cause one's mouth to drop, but with the watering going on, that only helps to empty it so it can fill again .
Dodge is coming out with a 'true crew-cab' 1-ton with a long-bed in 2010. I don't remember reading about the mega-cab getting a long-bed but that could be happening as well. (Maybe the mega and crew are the same ??? - don't know...). Regardless, it has been a long time since Dodge has had a crew-cab long bed 1-ton so that ought to be a market helper for those with the need.

Oh, man, you had to post that just after I decided to do some upgrades and hang onto my TV. Seriously turning green with truck envy here. Knowing the price tag would probably turn me another color though.

Yea, I know Bob, I would love to have one; but, the price tag is pretty steep. So, I guess I will have to be satisfied with my F250 for a while longer, what with DW wanting to do some kitchen remodeling at the stick house. I bet these trucks take a pretty good drop in value during the first year. A person might be able to find a good used one that wouldn't be too expensive.

Considering the size and COST of these rigs a guy would be better off looking at getting a true class 7 or 8; A rig like FireTrucker has. They have more power. Do not take up any more room than the 4500 and turn as well or better. And best of all ----- they can be picked up for MUCH less money.
But they are a nice looking rig. Very macho!

Hi Dennis.
I looked into one of those tractor conversions, and asked about the California Smog and registreing it in Calif, the guy that does the conversions told me that it can be a challange to do sometimes, of course I would end up the sometimes, then the city I live in dont allow those kind of trucks parked on our street, so then it would involve a storage lot space when not in use, more money that I dont want to spend. but I sure would rather have a Firetrucker truck for the power and milage pulling.

Think I will just stick to my "2002" F250. These and the F450 are about the same (a lot more money than I can see puting out) to big to go into a parking garage downtown (according to my DW).

It appears to be about the same size as the International 4700 with a towmaster bed on it. which is just about the same length as a long bed crew cab. They turn much sharper and back a 5ver much better than a conventional pickup. The international would fit in my garage with the nine foot door. I would think the Kodiak would get around just as good or better than the conventional dually
