Wet Bolt Upgrade

I decided to upgrade my suspension to the wet bolt system. I have a 2016 HC 375FL. I ordered the kit and did a online search on how to do it. This morning was a balmy 18 above , perfect . After blocking up the trailer and removing the tires I took out the first bolt. To my surprise , there was a bronze bushing installed so I didn't have to deal with installing those. 3 1/2 hours I was done, no major problems. Best $83 I spent in a long time.

Congratulations, I did mine this spring, but it took considerably longer. I had a tad warmer weather for the project (when it takes as long as it took me, it becomes a "project"). I'm hoping it helps with the longevity of the suspension. I also had the tires speed balanced while they were off and did the wheel bearings, so hopefully the Montana will be like a hovercraft on the interstate this season. Good luck with your upgrade, hope it helps to add security in your travels.

I'm confused but I am easily confused. Your sig states you have the IS yet you had to upgrade to wet bolts this Spring?

Welcome to the Wet Bolt Club. I am convinced they will help the suspension as you drive down the road--keeping axles, tires, etc. aligned--better towing all around. Maintenance will be required. I had my greased by a local RV shop when I get my annual state inspection (have to get an inspection to get my RV tags!) But, I am getting a pneumatic grease gun to do it myself--I have a nice compressor that I always carry. Oh--I have replaced all 8 of mine after 7 years--so--I guess I am "good to go!"

All I know is my 2016 High Country did not have them. Why they put Bronze bushings in and not the wet bolts is another mystery. However it was probably dollar driven.

the only problem that i know of is on the wet bolts they do crack right across where the little hole is.
always check your bolts when you go.

My early 2011 has wet bolts as do any after that time frame I've looked at.

High country vs regular montana would be the factor here. My guess is that only the biggest high country units have wet bolts or not or maybe the issue is just another assembly line varible build. But just guessing on my part.

On the Keystone site, the Montana line indicates the full wet bolt package, but in the High Country features list, it makes no mention of the wet bolts, even under options.

you are right on the mark. As I am something of a packrat I saved the unused bushings just in case.

I was quoting sambam. I don't know if you have IS or not, but sambam's signature says he does but he then upgraded to wet bolts.

Yes, I have the IS LRE suspension from Mor/Ryde. It has the rubber shear, but not the wet bolts. I didn't buy the camper new, so only went by my paperwork to figure it all out. I spoke with Brendan at Mor/Ryde and he helped me.

You might want to go to MorRydes website and check out the IS. I think you were misinformed by some one. My 2012 also has the LRE but it is not the IS that is installed after market by MorRyde.

Probably mis-informed myself. I thought the LRE was IS. In either case, it had the Mor/Ryde shear springs. Now it has their wet bolts as well. Thanks for the information. Guess I'll take IS off my sig. No intention here to mislead.

Yes, the shackles are part of the kit. Much heftier than the wimpy ones provided originally.

Thanks gentlemen - I think the wet bolt / shackle upgrade is a smart move - especially for the cost!
