Eddie, Harbor Freight has a 12V unit that I carry in the Monte. It is in a carrying case and all. Have had no problems with it when I needed it and it does a pretty good job of airing up the tires in a reasonable time! Check it out!

Have a 12volt Goodyear pump that does a good job. I have read here on the MOC that pineranch has a handheld (like a battery drill) pump that doesn't require hose and plug in wires etc. This is my 101 post since learning/joining the MOC. I gau-ran-tee there is more than 101 things I have learned here. Garry

I've had my 614's for over three months, about 3000 miles, pressure has remained steady at a cold 110 psi. I have a big compressor at home, but as of yet have not had to do anything to the tires. What a relief it is.......!

We have had no pressure loss in about 6 mos. since we purchased G614s. We run ours at 105 cold. Larry

I believe the Harbor Freight compressor that has been popular with the MOC members is only rated for 100 psi. This is one source for 12v compressors

I have a Harbor Freight and I have been able to get a 5 gal outboard tank up to [s]120[/s] 105 maybe 110 psi but it takes a while. If I had 110 psi tires I would put an air system on my truck like the one OZ had. A 5 gal tank and one or two compressors with PSI shut off regulator. If I found I really need the 110 a lot then I would consider a second compressor making the recovery time 40% shorter. Of course if I had this system I would also have a BIG AIR HORN (like OZZ). This has been on my dream list.
Merry Christmas.

I have a small tank compressor that runs on 110 power and produces 100# which is what I run the 614's at. It's about a foot long and 6"wide, weighs a couple of pounds, and I keep it in the front of the Monty. Bought it at NAPA. In the truck I have a 12v that will push them the rest of the way if I want to run 110# or if I don't have 110 power available.

Actually Charlie, the 12V Harbor Freight air compressor many of use is capable of 150 PSI (albeit slowly). It doesn't take too long to add a few pounds but bring your lunch if you are inflating a tire from totally empty.

I have the Interdynamics HD300 12V/300 PSI Truck Air Compressor. Used it once to top off to 100psi, slow but it got there.

I did a search on Harbor for 12 volt compressors and for some reason that one didn't show, go figure.

Get the heavy duty one with the alligator clamps that go on the battery, not the one that plugs into the 12v power outlet.

I carry a 125# compressor with a 2 gal tank in my RV basement. I check air pressures before I even hook up and make any adjustment needed. If I have a problem when disconnected from shore power.....well......that's why I have Coach-Net.

I use the 125psi Caftmens electric air comp. I have a Inverter with a 12volt connection to run it on the road off the Batteries from the 07 Dodge. Works well.

I have a Porter Cable 6 gallon "pancake compressor" capable of 125psi that runs off 110v. Since I bring a couple of Honda generators, I can use one to supply 110v to plug in the compressor. It's a little over kill, but at a campground and hooked up to shore power I use it to check the psi in both the trailer and truck tires wherever we are. I never leave home without them and the torque wrenches to check the lug torque periodically as well.

I was once a proponent of the Harbor Freight compressors, but am shopping now since I have had two of the Harbor Freight units die. They do a good job, but the internal works have proven to be a problem. (I have heard that they have plastic rods driving the pistons). I think that I have diagnosed the failures as being caused by trying to start the compressors while they are attached to tires that have a lot of pressure already in them (80-90 psi). I am deciding whether to go with a DC (alligator clip version) or an AC pancake type compressor. I did notice that with the Harbor Freight models if I started the compressor and then attached the unit to the valve stem that I did not have problems. I am weighing going with another Harbor Freight and adopting this procedure going forward or just biting the bullet and paying for a better-made compressor. All a question of how much I want to spend I guess (or what Santa hopefully brings). I did like the price of the Harbor Freight model, but absolutely despise a failure when on the road which it seems to never fail is when they decide to die. Decisions, decisions!!

First, You might want to rethink the 110 psi in those tires. The pressure should be based on the load on your tires. I only aired mine up to 95psi based on the Goodyear tire and loading charts. Overinflation is just as bad as underinflation. A fully loaded 3400 should have about 3,000 lbs on each tire and the max for the 614's are 3750 lbs. Second, I used a Sears aerator compressor, 110VAC and never had a problem with it. Just make sure whatever you get it will handle the psi you will demand of it. I carry a Honda Gen also for when I have no AC available. Start the genny, plug in the compressor and air to your hearts content......

I have had my G614;s for almost 5 years now, rarely have I ever had to add air to them, my pressurea are always between 105 to 110.

We carry a 110v pancake compressor that easily takes them up to 110 psi. But in the 20 months the G614's have been on this Montana they've only lost one pound and that was likely because of significant ambient temperature decrease. Still, it's nice to have a compressor available in case it's needed.

I have a ViAir 12 volt compressor. It's not cheap, but it is very well made and does a good job of adding air to the tires. I carry it in the in-bed tool box and made a jumper cable to connect it to the truck battery. I plan to install a small tank in the future so I can use a train horn to alert certain drivers that they need to look for me as they merge into oncoming traffic at 40mph while talking on their cell phone.
