I have "RV Plan N Go software" from a company called UnderTow Software. I put in a filter that shows lots of campgrounds in the area with full hookups, but it is hard to say which ones have 50 amp. The circles are their locations. An purple M means Military (must be a veteran), a blue P means RV Park, A red P means a private RV park (tend to have more facilities).

Give me a hint where you'd like to stay and I'll provide the info.

This past March we stayed a couple of nights at Travelers World. Just south of town on Roosevelt ave. It was a nice park and would have your 50 amp.

It was right on the bus line. Walk outside of the park, across the street, and for $2 if I recall you take a 15 minute ride and are in town for the Alamo, Riverwalk etc. Just to the south of there a couple of miles was one of the many San Antonio missions. This one being the Mission San Jose. A great way to spend a few hours.

It had a nice pool, decent space between sites, lots of trees. If the location is convenient for what you have planned, you can't go wrong.

Oh... and its not showing up on Arts Map above, but you can google it.

Our recommendation would be Traveler's RV Park. Great sites, all paved, roomy, clean, and just cross the street to get on the bus to downtown. There is also a great Mexican restaurant across the street. PA park so you would get PA discount.

OOps, how about a picture with the names... Sorry about the overlap. The overlap goes away as one zooms in... but one must have the software. It costs about $29 at their website. Unfortunately I couldn't find Traveler's RV Park as suggested above, so it doesn't include all RV parks, just some.

We also stayed at Travelers World RV Park. Convenient to downtown, the Riverwalk, the Alamo, Buckhorn/Texas Ranger museum, Mission trail, El Mercado (try Mi Tierra Cafe).
Although many use the bus stop just outside the park, we drove downtown. The road out front goes directly downtown crossing the Riverwalk near most of the primary Riverwalk dining places and reasonable walking distance to the Alamo. Roosevelt Ave (at the park) turns into St Mary's which turns into Navarro approaching downtown. There are a couple good size single level uncovered parking lots at Navarro and Commerce just before you cross over the Riverwalk. Easy to get into and we never had a problem finding a space, even with the crew cab long bed F350. Use google sat view and street view to get a good idea of the location and what to expect. The general area around the RV park is not the best, but we never felt any safety concerns while there.
If you decide on this park ask me about directions. There is one street you do not want to take due to a severe incline over a rail crossing.
There is also a KOA about the same distance to the east of downtown. Have not stayed there but it gets about the same reviews as Travelers.

Thanks to OP hunts800 and Gkerlin for this info, we will be going through there next spring so have put this RV Park on our list for a stop over in San Antonio, TX to see/do Alamo and River Walk.

Looks like the Travelers is a good option. I will be coming in from the West (from Alpine, TX) on Hwy 90. Looks like a direct shot to Roosevelt then south to park. Would be interested in name of street to avoid. Thanks for all the input.

Steve - There is no exit from US 90/I-10 to Roosevelt. And you do not want to take I-37 south and exit at East Southcross Blvd. Southcross is where the extreme railroad crossing is located. So do not leave that direction either.
Now I am not sure exactly what is the best way. But without knowing any better, one option is arriving US 90 from the west, take I-35 south to Military Dr, then east to Roosevelt, then north to the RV park.
Second option would be from US 90 take I-410 around the southwest side and exit at Roosevelt, then north to the RV park. Probably the easier way.
Roosevelt is a good 4 lane street. And you will pass by one of the better restored missions and a Walmart.
I think you would have no problem either way. Maybe someone more familiar with the area could comment on it.

the street he's concerned about is Southcross coming in from I'37.

We came in from the west too and Southcross was not a concern. We got off I-10 at x 573 south a block or two and then left (east) on Mitchell to Roosevelt. Right on Roosevelt and south a mile or two. Park was on the right. Easy in and out. We left the same way even though going Southcross to I37 would have been quicker (we where going to head east on I10). the hump on southcross is a big one over the tracks.

And I didn't think there was a problem with the neighborhood at all. There was a bit of commercial stuff nearby, but we spoke to a cop while downtown and he told us it was safe and quiet in that area.

Oh... and Art - Travelers is still not showing up on your software and its been there for years. One of the best rated parks in San Antonio.

Personally I like the Allstays app for iPhone/iPad. It's constantly updated for free.

When we headed home on our retirement trip, we stayed at Hill Country RV Park in New Braunfels. It allowed us a central location to hit the Texas Hill Country and the River Walk. If you are doing three or four days in San Antonio, staying closer is better. If you want to see the whole area from one central area, New Braunfels is a nice German heritage town with easy access to everything.

Thanks for all the helpful input. Spending the night in Uvalde so can get into San Antonio mid-day to avoid traffic.

The road to take "across" to Roosevelt is Military Drive. We stayed there in February.

Undertow was the publisher of the Trailer Life Navigation system, but for some reason Trailer Life pulled out so Undertow published their own version. The navigation system is identical, but they lost much of the helpful campground information which belonged to Trailer Life. This is very unfortunate. I have been in touch with Trailer Life and get a very polite apology, but that's it. It really is a dirty shame as this was the best software for planing a trip in advance. I am still using the 2010 version of the Trailer Life version but that means the information is becoming dated. I also have the new Undertow version, but find the lack of campground information to be a problem.

Yup, padredw, lots of complaints with the database part of the new Trip Planning software version from UnderTow since the disconnect from TL. Fortunately, I use it for the many other features.

I think it's pretty ambitious that UnderTow is gonna try and put all types of campgrounds in there so it's not so Trailer Life specific. I started with TLDCN 2008, then 2010 and 2011, and finally the rename to RV Roadtrip Navigator 2012, then the disconnect (and TL took their database info with them, after all they own it) and it's now called RV Plan N Go 2013 which still needs to add a whole lot of information and CGs. UnderTow had made steady improvements up until the step back with RVPNG2013. There's hope they'll make it better.

Back to the rv park in San Antonio, a few years ago we spent two winter months at Blazing Star RV Resort. We got one of the backin sites under trees and really enjoyed the park. At that time we paid $520/month including electricity. That was maybe four years ago. We considered The Admiralty RV Park but didn't like how closely they were jammed in.
