I have a stromberg carlson V gate that has a place for the OEM backup camera. It's nice not to worry when I'm hitching or unhitching about having to raise or lower the tailgate especially when trying to hook up at an angle that might cause the tailgate to contact the rig. That said, I'm convinced it's a personal preference and not that big a deal either way.
