Dishwasher

Happy New Year Y'all,

Has anyone ever installed a SMALL dishwasher in their 5er.
We have a 3400RL and are thinking about it. Any thoughts?

First of all Welcome to the MOC, I have not thought of this yet but it might be a good idea. I will be watching this thread to see how many have a dishwasher.

I have one ... he's about 5'11" with gray hair and mustache. He's pretty good at it too ... just has to be reminded to "start."

Jenni, I have seen some in the rv shows with a dishwasher installed. The one thing I would suggest is to choose carefully which electrical circuit to connect it to. You don't want too much draw on any one circuit or you'll be popping the breaker when you run the dishwasher. So check that out carefully. I have no idea how much current a dishwasher draws.

Good luck. Please post back if you install the dishwasher. At least one of us (me) would be interested in how well it works out. I'm the gray-haired and mustachioed dishwasher referenced above.

I have the taller model, same gray hair and mustache and doesn't usually need prompting because he likes the counters clean. I've seen the ones for RV's and they are really small. With just two of us it doesn't take long to clean up. I've broken more glasses and dishes in the dishwasher in the stick house than we have broken in any of our 5ers.
Happy trails.......................

Mine, also the male variety with the gray/thining hair (ouch, I am gonna have to DUCK when he reads this) does the putting away of clean dishes, which may or may not need drying.

I don't think I want to give up the room for a built in, or a sink top version of a dishwasher, we are pretty well packed when we go out for 1 to 3 months, as are the fulltimers.

But, hey, what works for one family will not for another, makes the world go round and keeps it interesing.

Have you looked in the CW catalogs, they probably have one.

I hope you've recovered, prairiepoodle. I can't seem to get photos resized properly so I put it up on the forum and then asked one of our experts to fix it for me. Meanwhile, I found a program that resized it as an email and had that size posted on Tinypic. Is it better now?

The only dishwashers I've seem for an RV are the countertop models, other than the ones that have dominated this discussion.

Just before Christmas I found one of the small dishwahers at the local Best Buy in the scratch and dent section for $40.00. We thought about getting it but after a bit of measuring we couldn't come up with a convenient space for it in our coach. We decided it really doesn't take that much time to do it the old fashioned way (gray haired (almost white haired) no mustache dishwasher who takes up a lot of space but is always there to drive the TV any way.)

Good Morning!! This is Wife of Dano and I can't believe this topic is on today!! -- I was going to post the same question today, but customers have been keeping me busy until now -- and Dano showed me this and I'm like "No Way!!" All of the responses so far are exactly what we were thinking they would be joking around this weekend ! After we (I) thought about it a little more, decided that I enjoy all of my counter space far to much to put anything on it that I don't absolutely have to have. We have this thing in the kitchen : I cook I clean. Dano cooks I clean, so as long as I do dishes every meal, I can't complain and when I don't, it's my own fault and I still can't complain. Sooo, I had to jump on say my 2 cents worth. We really love this forum.

Same with us then I use the paper for fire starter for campfire, of course we dont have food on them before the burn, cause we dont throw away food.

I found this one on Camping World while I was shopping today. I don't know anything about them except that they do the dishes. But thought you might like to take a look.

I hope my wife doesn't see this subject, because she likes to buy new things and then we have to find a place to store it.

Sue washes and dries the dishes but honestly we use the better quality paper plates most of the time and once in a while for a special meal we will use the corelle dinnerware.
