soft start for A/C?

people are making reference to a 'soft start' system so that you can run your A/C from a generator.
What the heck is a 'soft start' and is it easy to install?

It’s a device that starts A/C in the equal to granny low. Most A/C pull max load on start but the soft start minimizes load. Several amps difference.

It`s a little more than a capacitor change. Look here:https://www.microair.net/

I went with board only and made my own containers, save a bunch of money and put one on each a/c. Yep they work and really takes a load off the start up current so my little 2000 watt gens can get the a/c`s running.

Hmmmmm I wonder if that is the solution to get my rig to run off of my 3500/4500 Champion??? If it works though it might take away my argument that I need the welder/generator with the DW.............Hmmmmmmmm decisions decisions......
