Screen door latches
We have a 2005 3685FL and I'm hoping someone has found a good replacement for those cheap plastic screen door latches. We would
appreciate any ideas. Also what are the best struts to hold open
the door above the television.

We have the 2004 3685FL and cannot close that darn screen door on the first try. We have to try at least 3 times before it latches. The second door is the worse. Let me know if you solve the problem. It's no biggie, but annoying.

I sprayed on the latches white lithium grease - same that I use on my slide rails and it solved the problem. Both doors now close on the 1st attempt.

I spray mine too, but with silicone spray, it is less messy.

I gess ours works OK I have just put Plexaglass on the screen and it makes it heavy but it closes ok if you dont try to slamm it.. and on the door over the TV I put a standard bracket for holding open lids and such from the hardware about $2.00 had to put a small block of wood behind the edge to make it wide to hold the screws..works great so the remote will work we leave it open about half

I have found one important factor, the more level the rig the better the door latches. I find if the rig is off left to right the door does not want to latch on the first try. If I have it right on the mark the door works first time. BUT do not slam the door as the kick back prevents the latch from catching. Really, it's the same principle of getting your spouse to do something they'd rather not..."Be firm but gentle". Works for me.

Oregon we had dealer but small shock openers on both the entertainment center door and the door above the fridge to hold open, found in walk through and he did on the spot n/c at our request. As far as screen door added lexan to our really no trouble getting it to latch. looked at mine this this evening, looks like you can looen screw and move it in or out to adjust the alignment to help it close. May wnat to check that out. Another option I have seen on forum for enteetainment center door is turn it upside down so door will be open fully in down position.

We had that problem and our dealer was able to resolve it with a quick adjustment.

Adjustment usually fixes it for us. Sometimes the screen door is bowed a little. A little pressure in the right places usually fixes that.
