Sad Situation

Here we are near Yuma having to learn how to turn the heat on in the new car and trying to remember how it works in the truck. Three years for the truck since I last used the heater. These semi automatic comfort control systems are somewhat confusing for an old geezer if all you've used is the AC. Thought I'd avoided all that spending the winter in Yuma.

I don't have any idea, but would be happy to see the record highs we had here last year return.

We understand, our first time in freezing weather in four years of RVing. We are stuck in Odessa, TX at 17 degrees at sun rise, ice storm came mid afternoon yesterday (Dec 30th), we by chance were able to avoid wrecks with many autos in the ditches, observed one pile-up with a flipped truck&trailer mixed with cars, and were again by chance at an exit on I-20, we crawled across Odessa to our scheduled stop, will not move until tomorrow (New Years’s Day) or later, CG water is frozen, onboard water lines are frozen, using bottled water. Thankfully we have shore power at 50Amp and LP gas.

I guess we shouldn't complain of our mid 60s temps here in Central Florida, even tho I've saw folks with their winter jackets on.

Gee Dick, as I look at the 12.4 degree reading on our digital thermometer, my eyes are tearing up over your plight.

You are quite right - in fact that's the only kind of pants I own. The world just isn't ready to see my ugly legs, no matter how warm it gets. The last pair of shorts I owned were my gym shorts in high school, and getting rid of them at graduation was a pleasure, to both me and those who suffered having to look at me wearing them.

Well I guess it was a bad idea when we retired and started planning winter escape to give all our warm weather clothes to the goodwill!!! LOL

Nah, those folks who have to shop at the Goodwill need warm stuff a lot more than we do.

Global warming is a term that someone in the scientific field applied to our changing weather cycles. They should have been fired...proper term is climate change. Can you say all kinds of weird weather at the wrong times in the wrong places? Sure you can...now correct anyone you hear that says global warming. John
