Got my fireplace installed

Thanks to the many suggetions and pictures posted by others here, I decided how to do my fireplace. Took the simplest approach and just bought one that was slightly smaller than my cabinet opening. That way if I decide to remove it for any reason, I can just pull it out and put the cabinet doors back on.

Nice job! I like your thinking about doing the mod in such a way that you can easily reverse the process...again, nice job.

Very nice job!!! looks great and I know you will get a lot of enjoyment from it. We added one to our rig last year and I have to say it is probably the best mod I have done. Not only does it provide an added heat source, but the ambiance is great too!

Bill what was the make and model of the fire place. I am looking at doing some thing along that line. It looks like a great job that you did.

It was an 18" Classic Flame from Electricfireplacedirect.com. It was the only one I could find that was narrow enough to fit into the cabinet without modifications. It is about 2 1/2" narrower and shorter than the opening. So I just added some filler strips on the sides and some trip all around. They have many other sizes and brands.
Air exhaust is top front. Air intake is on the top panel inside the cabinet. I added a grill at the bottom of the opening so the air goes in there, around and up the sides, and over the top.
