Electric Shock
Today while setting up the Monty..it is a 2007 3450RL.. I got a shock. Not bad but enough that I could not hold on to the stabilizer leg. I am going to check with a multi meter and see if I can measure it. What could be causing this?

Shovelhead86,
In my case the problem was I was inadvertently using an extension cord that had no ground! Someone had cut off the grounding prong. I was getting a significant shock. Of course I had checked out just about every possible cause before I discovered the problem. Good luck and let us know when you find the cause. Dennis

usually this is a problem with the polarity on the the campground post. I remember in the old days before the 3 prong 20a cords when this would happen on our camper my Pop would just unplug, rotate the the plug 180* and plug back in to "fix" it.

You're loosing the ground somewhere. It's either in the campground pedestal or your connections. Have the campground check their pedestal or plug into another outlet (try the 30 amp outlet) and see if it goes away. Check your cord to make sure you don't have a loose connection in your plugs. Then you can unplug the camper and tighten all the wiring in the circuit breaker panel. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Dennis,
Between shocking power cords and exploding fuel hoses, I'm surprised you're still with us!

Pat,
That is funny! Indeed I believe I am lucky! Just hope my luck keeps holding! In the meantime I'm going to try to enjoy the Monty as long as I can. Good luck and travel safely, Dennis.

Update on the shocking problem---The trailer is plugged into an outlet on my garage wall. I looked at all kinds of possibilities and by chance replugged it into the upper outlet instead of the lower outlet. I no longer got a shock. I replaced the 39 cent outlet and all is fine. Somehow it was feeding a little voltage to ground.
