Campfires

Bill has been dragged into being fireman for this rally. He will attempt to have a campfire every night we're in camp--weather permitting. Of course, it would be appreciated if he had a helper--especially one with fire tending equipment!

Thanks gunner! We'll have to obtain local firewood once we get there. I have a limited #of fire starters. Perhaps you have some?

Count me, gunner, in to help Bill with the fires but I won't be arriving til Friday.

We, Dolores, will also bring a pulled pork main dish for Fridays crock pot suppper.

Dolores has been rearranging the cabinets after Gettysburg using all the helpful hints we picked up from you all. I know she's game for showing off what she's done if you want to put her down for the show & tell.

Is the cost of fire wood coming from the MOC fees? How is it paid for? I don't want to see just one person have to pay for it.

Sorry it took so long to answer--we roll this cost into the rally fee so we all share the burden. The same goes for all the costs involved: paper goods, goodie bags, morning coffee, ice, etc.

Concerning the campfire. Does anyone have firewood around their property they could bring
for the campfire? If so, this would save us from buying it. I will bring some newspapers to start the fire.

Salle and others,
It may be prudent to find out if Virginia has prohibitions on bringing out-of-state firewood into the state due to the Emerald Ash Borer. I know Kentucky and Ohio have restrictions and they are looking hard in West Virginia. If it is prohibited, the fines are usually in the $500 range. That would be an expensive campfire, considering the wood would still have to be purchased because they can confiscate it what you transport. Perhaps the campground knows??
If it is legal, I can bring some as well. Anybody got time to do a search??

No out of state firewood permitted--in some areas, no out of county wood permitted. Sorry guys!
