Touch up paint solution

Hello everyone! We've got a 2017 3710FL and our cap was beginning to have some chips in it. I spent some time at a couple local auto stores and found an exact match for the main light creme color of our Monty. I touched up our chips and you cannot tell where they were! I included a couple photos so you can see what my main body/cap color is. I hope this helps

It's Dupli-color's 'PW-1 Chrysler Stone White' also has the code 'ACC 0407' listed.

PS...I have no idea why my photos ALWAYS upload upside down or sideways, but you get the point

Nice! Your pictures need to be wider than they are tall. I recently figured out. Must be something in the forum attachment code.

The color you are referring to the touch up paint, is it the color of the compartment door color meaning the main color of the sides of the camper? I have a 2016 3791rd and have a couple chips also

Yes. That's the color, as you can see it's my compartment doors as well as my main color. It's a perfect match, almost as if that's the color Keystone really used.

What auto parts store did you buy it from. My issue is on my propane bottle door for some reason there's about 6 to 7 spots about a inch up from the black frame on the bottom it just looks to me like its just popping off. There like 1/8 inch in size. If the color you found matches pretty good i try it and hope it looks ok color wise and it doesnt continue to keep popping off. If it does continue to make more spots coming off and color matches really well ill just paint the hole door with the paint in the spray can. To me cant tell why its doing it. But thanks ill give it a try. Chuck.

I bought it at O'Reillys auto parts, and was around $14. I also had a chip that was starting to curl and peel. I dabbed paint under the edge that was lifting and then filled the actual missing paint part of the chip. It ended up looking good...

Have a question. Went to Advance Auto parts and they had the color you said matched the compartment doors and propane doors. My question is on the bottle there's the paint code and a sample of the color it appears on the bottle as all the other bottles on the display rack have the color sample on the bottle. With looking at the color on the wrapper with the color sample to my eyes just doesn't look to me the color of my doors. So when you opened the bottle did it look different then the sample on the bottle unless they changed the main body color of 2016 to 2017. Thanks Chuck

Chuck, I'd say the actual paint is 'richer' than the label color. I can take a picture of my chip repair tomorrow afternoon if that would make you more at ease.

I would appreciate if you would take a couple of pictures of your repair and the color on the brush but, if you don't have to travel to do it, if its not at your house like i have to go to a storage lot to work and check on my camper. Again thank you for the info and help .Chuck.

I bought and used the Chrysler pw1 duplicolor t/up paint and was very happy with the match. Now if I can find the right paint for the rear cap I'll be able to paint a small body repair I made at the bottom.

We needed some touch up paint for our 2018 Montana which listed the color as "Oyster". I took one of the small 4"X4" corners from one of the slides and took it down to a Sherwin Williams store and they matched it perfectly and the cost was about 7 or 8 bucks for a pint. I had corresponded with local Montana reps as well as Keystone but didn't get a lot of help from either.

Do you know off hand what the paint code number is. Also was it a automotive Sherwin Williams paint store? Thanks Chuck.

MD FIREFIGHTER. Sorry the paint info is at home and we are in New Mexico for the summer and will be here until Sept. The store was a regular SW paint store not just Auto paint.
If you don't find what you need refresh this thread this fall and I will be able to get back with the paint info.

Just a thought. I have used finger nail polish to touch up spots on our white front cap. Maybe a close color could be found for your cap.

Even though it is not a direct match for the nose, I went ahead and used the touch up paint for the '17s. Looks much better and no one will notice.

Ugh

Thank you to all the comments. I’m getting close to finding the dark color on the cap. I think it’s code 712489, but Sherwin Williams has the code but no formula for it.

Any other ideas?
