It is really bad this year. Weber, Little Sand and Stateline fires burning here in 4 corners. For interesting mapping of fires here is a great link.

As of yesterday morning, we had 13 fires burning in Colorado, and there may be a couple more by now, hard to keep track. They have called in the Air National Guard C-130s, so maybe they will get a handle on some of this. The waldo Canyon fire is the highest priority fire in the country right now, due to the proximity of homes in the area.

When your home is one of those threatened, priority doesn't mean a lot. Hopefully, we'll be able to shift resources from the High Park fire soon. Expected containment is now 7/30 on that one. Having seen in our subdivision (49 homes lost in 30 minutes on 6/22), how quick the fire can move, we hope the people of Colorado Springs have better luck. Hopefully, no more MOC members are in harms way.

We now have evacuees staying with us. They find out this AM if their home is still standing. Over 35,000 people evacuated so far...

Bless you.

I've been watching the live coverage on KUSA when I can. Waldo is unbelievably insane. I know the area well and it is truly horrible. You are helping and that is awsome. Stay safe.

Our friends DID get good news! Their home was untouched! This will, however be a long and painful recovery for those affected.
