Newbie- 1st trip over

Thanks for all the helpful advice to my previous thread on our first trip. We had a great time. And your advice came in handy. Checked my hose lengths before unhooking trailer, per advice, and I am glad I did. Had to move to make water and cable connection. Have to buy more hose and cable. Didn't forget to much, just some food. Only took 3 tries to get backed in, so practice is helping. Checklists I had received came in real handy.
Now for the boo-boo. Has anybody noticed the 3 towel hangers in the bathroom? I found the center one with my head on the 4AM bathroom run.Took that baby off that morning.
Really impressed with how well the Montana tows. Hard to tell it is back there at times.
Again, thanks to all for your help. I look forward to seeing you in a campground in the future. Hopefully, the near future.

"Only took 3 tries to get backed in"
I know seasoned veterans that can't get backed in in just 3 tries.

I guess having an early 2004 paid off finally. We don't have any towel racks in our 2955RL and therefore no lumps on the noggin. Well no lumps from towel racks but many lumps from a certain bedroom slide.

Sounds like you had a very enjoyable first trip and I am sure you are going to have many many more. The 2955RL and 2500HD D/A combo works well together and there are times when you forget it's back there.

Three tries is a "sucess" story. Good job!
Interesting the differences in 2955RL
Ours is a 2003 and has 3 towel hangers in bathroom
Glenn has early 2004 and no hangers
2002dura has later 2004 and has 3 towel hangers.

Someone must like these towel hangers!!

Your have the solution - taking the center one out!

Dura: We have a 2003 2955RL and I bumped my head a couple times on the cabinet. I went to a hardware store and got some foam pipe insulation that was split down the side and slid it over the bottom edge of the cabinet and tacked it. Didn't stop me from bumping my head; just doesn't smart quite as much.

Congratulations, 2002Dura, sounds like a great start. You have a great combination in the 2955RL Montana and the Chev. Duramax/Allison. We should know, that is exactly what we have and enjoy so much. I'm with Glenn: three tries on backing is not bad at all.

Glad to hear you had an enjoyable first trip! We carry a 100' cable line and a 100' phone line, having learned just like you did.

Where exactly are those towel rods? Ours came with none so I put some on the inside of the water closet door. Are yours on the wall? Just curious.

Thanks.

They are in the bathroom, directly across from the commode, right at the bottom of the cabinet. I guess they are to hang a towel on. There were 3 in mine, (2 now)they are a small hook, gold plated, and they hurt. It put a pretty good cut on my head.
Now, when I go to the bathroom, my wife says she will have the phone ready to dial 911 if I get hurt. I just love her to death.

Congratulations on your trip. I have those three hooks but I haven't hit the old noggin as of yet.

We have the 3 hooks, as well, but they have not been a problem. They make some nice rounded hooks with padding on the end, and I would think replacing them would not be a problem.
