Montana 3440 ceiling fan

hi everyone, we are on our first outing in our new Montana up at Jackson hole. This may sound like a dumb question but how do I turn on my ceiling fan? I saw the up and down switch on the fan itself. That didn't do anything and neither did the cords hanging down. Thanks!

Try the big, "home style" switch in the control panel. That one works our fan.
Good luck!

If there isn't a big paddle type switch with your other controls look for one on a wall in the living area. Once that switch is on then you can set the controls and light for the fan with the switch on the fan and the pull chains.

The "up and down" switch on the fan that you refer to is to reverse the fan blade direction.
The switch you are looking for is just as wm5e stated and is a home style decora style black switch behind the wooden panel access door where most of the other RV switches are. It's easy to miss because it's a black switch on a black background panel. Took me a couple of hours to figure it out.

We have the same model as you. The switch is located in the switch box, by the door. It is a big brown rocker switch. Just a word about the fan, on our first trip two bolts fell out of the fan, each blade has two bolts. I checked each one and added thread locker to each bolt. No more problems.

We had the same question. Finally I went to control box and flipped the brown switch and like magic the fan went on. The dealers don't go through enough things with your when you buy. I know they have allot of models to deal with. They should familiarize themselves with what they are selling. The manuals don't explain how to use things they are how to install things. A DVD would be welcome to new owners going through operation of rig. Especially if they have never owned a 5th wheel. Good thing for groups like yourself and youtube.

We have had ours for 2 weeks and our fan was the same. Really big pain to fix but we got it.

Had two of the blade bolts fall out of ours on the first real trip. Replaced but a pain because of limited clearance between the light and the fan blades :-( . Like others have said, the power switch on our 3711 is in the cabinet with all the others - big, relatively flat rocker switch.
