Ceiling cooling fan

Okay guys, I have picked your brains before and you have really helped. We have a 2010 3150 Montanna, the window openings are quite small. We need to get rid of some of the summer heat build up without using our main air conditioning fan. In our other rig we installed a fantastic fan but we know there are many other fans out there. I would really like some imput as to which fan you may think is the best at drawing out the warm air and cooling the RV down. I don't know why Montanna moved away from the larger window openings as they allowed air to move through the RV more freely. Anyhow, do let me know your ideas, they will be most appreciated.

I think the fantastic fan is the best out there. They work well and there customer service is the best.

Fantastic fans all the way, absolutely the best company in North America to deal with regard to warranties.
If you are getting a Maxx Air vent cover to go on the roof of your trailer, make sure you buy the proper one for the Fantastic fan. If you put on one of the smaller, Maxx Vent hoods it will starve the air flow to or from the fan.
When it is warm outside but not hot, we open both bedroom windows in our 2955RL, and put the Fantastic in Auto with a speed that is not too noisy for our sleeping. Our Fantastic is in he kitchen, and the noise doesn't keep us awake. If it gets really cool during the nite, the thermostatic control on the fan will kick in and shut it down.

ditto the previous remarks. Fantastic fans work well, and the thermostat feature is nice. We have ours in the middle of the RV and open our regular vents at each end. This helps our model to create a good draft.

That's all I've used - Fantastic fans. I've never had a problem and for those that do, they rate them very high on support, service and replacement. When it comes to service and support, they get high ratings compared to any other company that provides RVing products. That would tell me to use them. Unless you can get a great deal with some other brand would be the only reason not to pick them, then you have to worry about the adage, "you get what you pay for".

Another vote for the Fantastic Fan. Customer Service is superb. I had a problem, they talked me through testing the electrical connections to determine the problem. It turned out to be a loose connection on the ground wire, MY problem. They were happy to have helped me fix my problem! That is great customer service

We ordered our new 3150 with 2 MaxxAir II automatic fans. They work great - one in the shower area and one in the kitchen. I like the multi speed and Auto feature so they close at night if it gets cool. They are quieter then the Fantastic Fan we had in our previous 5th wheel. The remote makes it easy to control.

We have a Fantastic Fan in the kitchen area of our 3400 and a "Comfort Air" from Camping World in the bedroom between shower and commode. Both seem to work fine however, the Comfort Air has to be hand cranked up and down now.

This is rather tounge in cheek, but with local temps being 103+ for the last month continuing at around 92 past midnight ... even a "fantastic fan" isn't fantastic at all ... Come on Fall!!!!!!!!

Maxxair makes a great fan, it is the one in the main living area of Tana, chosen because it IS quieter, the motor is OUTSIDE the unit. Nothing wrong with the Fantastic Fan, great company, as reported here and we have one of those in the bath area.

But, hope to never have another FF in the living area, due to the noise factor.

We have a Fantastic Fan in the kitchen of our 3400...frankly, it does not seem to draw much cool air into (or move warm air out) our unit. Even with ALL of the windows open, our 3400 just seems to hold heat.

I am not an expert on cfm draw on fans,but you would not notice a movement of air as much when you have all the windows open. the fan can only draw x-amount of air thru the trailer. to try it,shut your windows and just leave your door open and also your roof vents. you should notice the air drawing thru the door. as you open more windows it will drop off,it just can't pull that much air. I hope this makes sense,I am sure someone can explain it better,but you see what I mean.

i'm sure there are reasons for not using your A/C but, sorry, for me i just have to say that i love my 2 A/C units and use them both when I can..... coooooool air, love it.

X2 on the fantastic fan. Our 3150RL came with one already installed above the kitchen. It really vacates the warm air that accumulates at/near the ceiling. If there is another solution out there that is quieter, I would go with that.
