Toilet flood

Woke up this morning to a quarter inch of toilet water in the bathroom and part of the bedroom. We replaced the original toilet 2 years after the rig was built due to a leaky water valve. 6 months later, with the same model toilet, it also decides to leak water into the bowl after a flush. First time we caught it, this time it caught us. Had read of similar incidents on this forum and was shutting down the water line whenever we left the trailer. Never thought it would sneak up on us during the night. Called the manufacturer and they are sending us an improved water valve. Hopefully, that will fix it. For once I was glad to have heartburn in the middle of the night. Water behind the basement wall was the only other issue. Could have been worse and I hope this is the end of this saga.

In our previous montana i installed a washer dryer combo. I picked up an electronic gizmo at home depot for around 12 dollars. It sat on the floor and if it got wet it would sing out. Saved us once. Just a thought.

Great idea. Will be getting one next time we're at the big box store.

Wow, another alarm, but a good idea to have. I hate water problems but they do happen and the damage they can cause can be expensive.

I saw the 3-pack post and I especially like that the alarm is an SOS style sound, not a constant squeal that makes you want to kill the alarm when an event takes place. I guess in most our rigs, you place one in the toilet room, by the lavatory/shower and near the kitchen sink? Perfect!

Installed the manufacturer's provided water valve kit and it works better than new. No more weep/seep and the ball waste valve now closes crisply too. Quick response by mfg in sending out the kit.
