Running wire in ceiling & wall

I would like to add another air conditioner. I have a 2006 Mountaineer and it is not wire for a second AC.

How difficult would it be to run the wire for another AC unit? I would have to run it through the ceiling and wall.

I asked my dealer about installing the AC unit and I got a price of $400.00 in labor. Sounded high to me and it might be something I could do myself.

Are you sure it's not already wired? Is there a cover plate on the bedroom ceiling about the size of a wall switch plate?

The side walls are a "sandwich" construction. The ceiling has a little space. A PM or email to Ozz may get you some good info. He has done a lot of modifications on his unit, especially wiring. An added plus is that he is and heating and air conditioning guy.

Can't say about the labor cost. They have to cut a hole in your roof, drop in the A/C unit seal it so as not to leak, run the wiring, and guarantee their work. Not sure how much time that takes, but I guess I am a little skiddish of doing it myself. Besides, if they mess it up, I have someone to blame, if I do.....

Our second unit has been very helpful. It cools down quicker on hot travel days. It's essential when the main unit can't keep up. It is a rescue if the main unit goes out.
