Question Fix Chips - Help

Washing my fifth wheel today I came across a couple of chips. I thought they were love bugs but the finish clearly is chipped. Don’t really want to take it in to dealer for these. Each one smaller than a dime. Do I repair them like a boat using a gel coat or simply touch up paint? Anyone address this issue?

I went to O`Reillys Auto parts store, they have touch up bottles(pens) for automotive paints,I found that Chrysler had a very close color match for ours, not perfect but hard to see unless I point it out. It has the paint on one end and clear coat on other end of the paint pen.

Paint match

Any Montana dealer can provide you the paint code if you want an exact match. Provide the dealer your vin number and they can pull the code from Keystone's Keyexpress website.

I've seen owners use fiberglass shower repair kits. Just an idea

The dealer scratched mine and has to take care of it. Because I live in California I'm being told no touch up paint. Trying with the factory and they can't give me codes. The dealer has to take care of it and I'm tired of waiting. I have a 2018 HC 305 RL. WHAT IS THE PAINT CODE FOR THE TAN COLOR?

Fiberglass paint is different than automotive paint.

Don’t even need the paint codes. They have a special camera that matches the paint exactly.

I have a 2018 Montana High Country 305RL. I live in Folsom California and because we live in a fruits and nuts state, and paint is dangerous, you cannot get touch up paint in California. That is what the dealership is saying. I got a response from a representative from keystone. Here is what was said: Our parts department got backwith me this morning and noted they were advised that the paint code should beIFD9616 for the tan.
Any takers on this? I believe Keystone is using a Sherwin Williams automotive paint?

You should be able to go to a auto body paint supler and see if that number makes since. I tried to get paint numbers from Keystone one time and could not.

Yes Keystone uses a Sherwin-Williams paint code. You can get a supplier to mix some up for you. But you are taking a real chance that it won't match due to fading, age, or differences between the Goshen supplier and your local one.

You can get a camera and app that will identify what paint mixture you need to match. This is the same, albeit less expensive, tool that repair shops have and use to match your current paint.

As for not being able to get touch up paint in CA I call B.S. I have a large supply of touch up paint for my 2012 painted rig which I got from a local RV body shop.
